Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For DAYS: Linsey Godfrey

The last time Linsey Godfrey was dubbed Soap Hub’s Performer of the Week, her alter-ego was going toe-to-toe with a supervillain and diving into dumpsters. This time, she’s earned the honor for going toe-to-toe with yet another force of pure evil and surviving the horror that was a literal roach motel.

Linsey Godfrey — Performer of the Week

Sarah Horton had her hands full trying to keep her hubby’s hands out the candy bucket designated for trick-or-treaters — the rat a tap tap Godfrey delivered to co-star Paul Telfer’s hot little fingers was a hoot — and keep the peace between him and grouchy, grousing Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) who practically sing-songed, “You haven’t got a job,” just to bait the cash-strapped, in debt Xander.

“Actually, Xander already has [one],” proffered a pretty pleased with herself Sarah — and just to emphasize that Victor can and should stick it, Godfrey planted her feet firmly, crossed her arms defiantly, cocked her head to the side and glared smugly.

Furthermore, Sarah dared Victor to direct his disparages her way considering the fact(s) that, “I was stranded on that island for over year. Because I have no savings, not to mention I’m still on probation at the hospital, and I’m not getting my full salary.” Phew!

However, Sarah was soon to learn that Xander had in fact not been hired at The Spectator. Talk about egg on one’s face.

A subsequent blowup between Xander and Victor proved the impetus for the former to up sticks, and as Xander’s ever-loving wife, Sarah went with him — though not exactly willingly. Their arrival at a pay by the hour hovel presented Godfrey with opportunity to really flex her comedy muscle and her physical prowess as she battled seemingly immortal insects, “the size of Cocker Spaniels,” attempted to ferret out the source of a particularly unpleasant odor, and direct her visiting mother away from the bedside table on which “I Hope You Die” had been carved.

But where Linsey Godfrey really shone was in her scenes with wee Finley Rose Slater who played Rachel Black, the child that Sarah had erroneously raised for the first year of her life — when Sarah wistfully recalled that the tyke had loved sunglasses even when she was a babe, Godfrey brought the pathos — and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), Sarah’s most hated foe whom she pointedly called her for her various acts of villainy. Brava!
