Maggie Kiriakis And Konstantin? Why That Would Be A Big DAYS Mistake

In case we missed it on Days of our Lives, Konstantin stressed how the only way he could possibly stay in the U.S. is if he were to marry an American citizen. You know, a citizen. Who is an American. Whom he could marry. Because it is the only way he can stay in the United States. Also, you know who is an American citizen? Maggie Kiriakis.

Maggie Kiriakis: Just Say No

Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) — an American citizen. Just like the kind he would need to marry. In order to stay in the United States. We’re not sure if Konstantin (John Kapelos) is deliberately lying, or if he really doesn’t know how this works. Good thing we’re here to enlighten him.

Tourist Trap

Konstantin is from Greece. He is, presumably, a Greek citizen. Greek citizens don’t need a visa to come to the U.S. as tourists. As long as Konstantin doesn’t try to get a (legal) job or ask for benefits, he doesn’t need any paperwork to hang around Maggie’s house and kidnap babies. His status is in no danger.

Working For a Living

Konstantin did briefly mention that getting a job was another possibility. But, who, oh, who, would give an old man like him a job, especially since he doesn’t have a worker’s visa. Those are so difficult to get. It would be much easier to marry an American citizen. So Konstantin could stay in the country.

Hey, good news, Konnie Boy, Maggie still owns a very large share in a very large company. A company that probably has a whole legal department dedicated to getting worker visas for their employees. Maggie could help him get a job. So he could get a visa. And earn his own money. And stay in the U.S. You know, without needing to marry a citizen. Let’s hope Maggie knows that.
