Will Chad DiMera turn into Stefano on DAYS?
Chad DiMera has had a rough couple of years on Days of our Lives. He lost his beloved wife Abigail to a brutal murder. He finally fell in love again with Stephanie, but that fell apart, too. And now, he has to work with Xander and Leo and Everett. Chad is getting awfully snippy, isn’t he? Cranky? Yelly? He is not a happy camper. That makes us wonder if he is about to lean into his dark paternal side.
Chad (Billy Flynn) is spending more time at work. Stephanie (Abigail Klein) has moved out, and God forbid Chad spend anymore time with his kids than the minutes it takes to throw a football around with Thomas (Cary Christopher). So, work it is!
Chad bought the newspaper allegedly because he wanted to protect Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s (Cady McClain) legacy for Thomas and Charlotte. It was really so he could make Xander (Paul Telfer) fire Everett (Blake Berris).
That failed, so now Chad is Xander partner (though he seems to be able to override him) and Everett’s boss. And they’re going to do what he says. If Chad says they’re killing the story on drug overdoses at Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) restaurant, then they’re killing it. Why? Because he said so, that’s why. And he’s the money guy, that’s why. He pays the piper so he gets to pick the tune. Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) couldn’t have barked it better.
Chad tried to get Stephanie to stay away from Everett by getting him fired and running him out of town. He failed. Spectacularly. But the mere fact that he tried it proves this isn’t the sweet Chad viewers fell in love with. Maybe it was losing Abigail. Maybe it was just his genetics kicking in. Either way, Chad is becoming more and more DiMera by the day. And that’s not a compliment.
