What will Eric Brady do?
The way Sloan kept babbling drunkenly during her Days of our Lives dinner with Eric, Marlena, and John, we expected her to blurt out the secret about Jude’s real mom and dad right then and there. She refrained. For now. But it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. The question remains: What will Eric do about it? Well, that depends on who finds out what when.
What if Eric (Greg Vaughan) finds out that Jude is Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) — and his — before Nicole does? Will Sloan (Jessica Sefaty) be able to convince him to keep quiet? After all, if he hands the tot over to Nicole, then EJ will insist on playing Daddy. But, if Sloan and Eric keep him, well, then, Eric gets to live out his fatherhood dreams.
On the other hand, if Nicole leaves EJ, then, yes, Eric should absolutely leave Sloan, too. They’ve always wanted to be together, anyway, baby Jude (you know Nicole will want to change his name) will be just the excuse they need to ditch their significant others and go for it. Nicole gets Eric, Eric gets to be a dad, and EJ, who did nothing wrong (in this scenario), gets kicked to the curb. Yup, that sounds fair.
But, even if Nicole decides to stay with EJ, Eric should still dump Sloan. For one thing, he never loved her. She was just…there. For another, she lied about Jude, and she put Nicole through hell. (EJ, too, but Eric doesn’t really care about that.) Even if Eric only finds out that Jude is Nicole’s, not his, he should still end this farce of an insincere marriage and strike out on his own. He can do better. Surely, there’s another uterus out there for him somewhere.
