In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, December 18, 2023, Sloan demands Nicole be arrested before cooler heads, namely Eric’s, prevail.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Chad and Stephanie officially called it quits, Harris filled in Stephanie’s myriad of blanks, and Chanel worried about her overly tired mother. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Son Shine

Before Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) could confess her deception, Harris (Steve Burton) interrupted with a hot tip. An eyewitness saw what they believed to be a woman in a dark hoodie rolling baby Jude Roman away. Woman? Dark hoodie? Could it be Nicole (Arianne Zucker)? Possibly. After all, how could the two disappearances not be connected? But, Eric (Greg Vaughan) wasn’t so sure. Wasn’t that the same description of the person who stole Victoria Margaret? What if they are the same person?

Debate ensued, but it was quickly brought to a halt by the arrival of EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), Nicole, and the baby she had clutched to her chest. Sloan recognized the infant. That was her baby! (Well…)

During a subsequent interrogation, Nicole flat-out admitted to Rafe (Galen Gering) that she took the baby. Sloan doesn’t deserve to be a mother. She left the poor thing in his stroller and on his lonesome. Taking him home felt like the right thing to do.

Upon being apprised of the facts, Sloan insisted Nicole be prosecuted. She won’t feel safe and be able to breathe as long as that “baby snatcher” is freed. And, if EJ won’t bring the charges against his wife, Sloan will head straight for the state Attorney General.

Except that she won’t. Thanks to Eric preaching compassion and forgiveness, Sloan retracted her demand and even gave Nicole an out with the claim she’d given her rival permission to take the babe. But, Sloan had yet more to say to Nicole when they were on their own. Namely, if she ever comes near “her” child again, then Sloan will make her life a living Hell in ways that she cannot imagine.

Growing Concern

Meanwhile, Chanel (Raven Bowens) was surprised to find Paulina (Jackée Harry) still in her robe, but Mama Bear insisted she was doing A-okay and it wasn’t anything that a little coffee couldn’t fix.

Chanel headed out to do some Christmas shopping — and pick Paulina up some lights and bourbon toothpicks for Abe (James Reynolds). After running into Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) in the town square, the two of them took to a table to catch up.

Alex told Chanel all about Victor being his biological father (which, of course, he really isn’t…read more about that here), and she told him about getting back together with Johnny (Carson Boatman). That and her fear that another lady was sniffing around him. Not that she mentioned Holly (a little coffee couldn’t fix) by name.

Later, Chanel returned home to find Paulina — who’d privately complained about a sore throat — sprawled out on the couch and in a deep sleep: Curiouser and curiouser.

Admiration Station

Chad (Billy Flynn) swung by the Johnson abode, catching a hungover Stephanie (Abigail Klein) unawares. He admitted to being way out of line the last time they spoke (read all about that here) and suggested they officially end things between them. Stephanie agreed. Both worried about what this would do to Charlotte and Thomas.

As for their working relationship, well that needed to be ended as well. It would all be too fraught at least for now. Also, Everett (Blake Berris) was back at The Spectator. P.S., Chad is ashamed of what he did.

Off that heart-wrenching convo, Stephanie made tracks for a rendezvous with Harris (Steve Burton). He had good news: the only thing that transpired between them the night previous was a few kisses. Bad news: he planned to come clean with Ava (Tamara Braun) about said smooches. Honesty is the best policy and all that. Stephanie could but admire that.

Afterward, Stephanie crossed paths with Alex, a sight that didn’t please Chad (who’d just finished getting a whole bunch of unsolicited life advice from Paulina) one little bit.
