We thought Will Horton was being super-selfish when he refused to come back to Salem on Days of our Lives, even when it was clear how much his husband, Sonny Kiriakis, missed him. Well, now it’s Sonny’s turn to be selfish. He’s decided that he is ready to join Will in New Zealand. And they’ll be taking Arianna with them. Gabi Hernandez will be fine with it. She’ll want whatever makes Sonny and Will happy, obviously.
First, Sonny (Zach Tinker) and Will (Chandler Massey) took Ari to Arizona. But at least then, Gabi’s (Camila Banus) life was in danger. Or she was in prison. Or both. As long as Ari couldn’t be with her mom anyway, it made sense for her to live with her father and stepfather.
But Arizona is a four-hour plane ride away. Not on the other side of the world. And Gabi is no longer either in prison or on the run from Mexican mobsters out to kill her father. Gabi can and is providing a good, loving home for her daughter.
Do Sonny and Will care about that? That would not seem to be the case. Sonny made plans to leave tonight, and he assured Will that it’s what Ari wants, too. Isn’t it the middle of the school year? Does Sonny know that New Zealand has a totally different education system? How will Ari adjust? Why should she have to?
Not to mention, Sonny just suggested that he and Will will be able to do whatever they want in New Zealand. They can hike the whole country from top to bottom whenever they feel like it!
Uhm…with a kid in tow? A kid who needs to go to school? And visit her mom? And adjust to a new home? Do these two ever think about anyone but themselves?
