Has Tate Black Just Shown His True DAYS Colors?

Aw, look at that adorable Tate Black on Days of our Lives. He so adorably caused thousands of dollars worth of damage at boarding school that he expected his parents to pick up the bill for. He so adorably whined his way out of having to work off his debt — Daddy even gave him his gold card so Tate would turn his frown upside down. And now, he is adorably wooing Holly Jonas, by giving her a first edition of her favorite Jane Austen novel. Has Tate finally overplayed his hand and shown his true colors?

When those of us who know anything about rare books first saw Tate (Jamie Martin Mann) give Holly (Ashley Puzemis) what he claimed was a first-edition printing of “Pride and Prejudice,” we shrieked. Where was the protective covering? Ten-year-old comic books go into plastic bags for collectors, and 210-year-old books don’t? Why was Tate touching his precious antique with his greasy, filthy, destructive hands? What kind of a monster is he?

But, it got worse. And, it made us suspicious. Tate was so casual with his gift. Why shouldn’t he be? He claimed he got it on eBay. Those of us who know anything about rare books are pretty sure that a find of that magnitude is not available on eBay. The rare times when it is available, it is through reputable rare book dealers. And it retails for, oh, close to $200,000. Each. We know Brady (Eric Martsolf) is feeling guilty and has been footing the bill for many of Tate’s whims. But you’d think he’d notice a charge like this. And ask his son about it.

The Proof Is In The Pudding

Which is how we know Tate is lying. That is not a first edition, he did not buy it on eBay. It’s a con. And Tate is a con artist. He is exactly the player he denied being. He lies in order to charm girls, and Holly seems to be falling for the scam, right on schedule. We’ve finally seen the real Tate. And we’re intrigued….
