In Star Trek V, Captain Kirk asked the question, “What does God need with a starship?” We have a follow-up, “What does the Devil need with contracts?” This is the Devil, right? The one who possessed Marlena, Johnny, and Allie without their permission, right? So why does he suddenly need permission to take their souls?

Days of our Lives Paperwork

Marlena (Deidre Hall), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and Kate (Lauren Koslow) all thought they were signing contracts to get into Heaven. Why would one need to do that? It’s not mentioned in the bible. Or in any of the supplemental materials. Why did they think a John Hancock was necessary?

DOOL Loop Holes

Once they found out they weren’t talking to Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), Adrienne (Judi Evans), or Jordan (Chrishell Stause), the women insisted the contracts were invalid, since they didn’t know what they were signing. Kate promptly began looking for loopholes. Has Kate heard the expression, “The Devil is in the details?”

Days of our Lives Minions

The Devil’s helper, Nick Fallon, said the contracts were unbreakable. But, again, we have to ask: Why does the Devil need contracts? Doesn’t he always do when he wants, how he wants, to whom he wants? Isn’t that what makes him scary? Why does the Devil need his subjects’ agreement in order to claim their souls? He’s never asked for compliance before?

Where in the World?

And if the Devil has been around since before English was invented, according to Nick, then he has certainly been around since modern laws. So why does he need to follow them? Also, the Devil is international, not American, right? What law is he following?

Let Me Speak To Your Manager

You know the only thing more powerful than the Devil? Wealthy women asking to speak to the manager. Which is exactly what they did when they demanded to speak to the Devil personally. The poor demon won’t know what hit ’em.
