When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.
Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review
Now that the canvas has been cleared of several fan-favorite characters, and with the ‘Lucas Is Really Sami’s Kidnapper’ storyline coming to a head – which will soon leave ‘Who Killed Abigail’ and the Shawn/Belle/EJ triangle as the only plots of note – who and what else will take center stage on Days of our Lives?
My first guess is that we’ll soon be seeing a lot more of Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) – and if you actually forgot that this quad was even still a thing then you’re not alone; DAYS forgot about them too.
There’s also the Eric/Nicole/Rafe triangle, which has been woefully ignored, and the Johnny/Chanel/Allie triangle which should be mercifully and categorically ended.
Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) are still out there somewhere and in want of something to do; well, something other than her going on the attack and him having to bring her back to reality.
And let’s not forget Days of our Lives’ most dull and insignificant coupling: ‘Brole’. One would think that Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) reappearance, incarceration, and threat/promise to win back her man would have been the spice necessary to make Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) interesting again, but nothing’s come of it yet.
Here’s hoping that we’ll still see the likes of Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price Carver (Jackée Harry), Doug Williams (Billy Hayes) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) on the regular…and maybe some of them will get a worthwhile story. Crazier things have happened!
Further DAYS Musings
* Nobody would ever confuse Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) with the Madonna, but I never would have thought that she’d throw her eldest under the bus for the likes of Clyde Weston (James Read). That seemed so out of the left-field, let alone of character.
* Just how did Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) get her hands, well, eyes really, on Shawn Brady’s (Brandon Beemer) passcode? Did he scribble it on a sticky note and then pop it down somewhere close to his computer screen like a raft of forgetful workers?
* What will become of Shawn Christian once the truth of his paternity comes out? Will this be yet another child of Evans (Brock Kelly) that his sister steals away?
