A Critic’s Review Of Days of our Lives: Disastrously Delicious & Soapy

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: The Critic’s POV

Did I miss the explanation for why Tony (Thaao Penghlis) and Anna (Leann Hunley) and Arianne Grace weren’t in attendance at the otherwise disastrously delicious double wedding held at the DiMera manse? The shade was particularly strong with the group that was assembled — Jada’s (Elia Cantu) “Oh, what a shame.” reaction to being told that Nicole (Arianne Zucker) was probably my favorite — everyone aside from Gabi (Camila Banus) looked dapper and dainty — seriously, what was that monstrosity they had her in? — and Leo (Greg Rikaart) objecting at the start of the ceremony was suitably soapy.

Further DAYS Musings

* A Melinda (Tina Huang) and Li (Remington Hoffman) coupling and a Melinda/Sloan friendship? Yes, yes to both! Please and thank you.

* Abe’s (James Reynolds) kidnapping at Whitley’s (Kim Coles) hands has finally concluded-ish (poor Abe is still an amnesiac, after all), and all I can say is…what was Paulina (Jackée Harry) doing carrying a whole framed photograph around in her bag?!

* At this point, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) is just feeding into Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) bad habits, and I don’t feel a lick of sorry for her.

* I had really been hoping against hope that Thursday’s episode would conclude with Gwen (Emily O’Brien) getting a clue and deciding to band with Leo and Dimitri (Peter Porte). Unfortunately, DAYS is doubling down on refashioning con artiste extraordinaire Miss Rizczech into a pathetic, lovelorn ignoramus. How disappointing.

* Was there anyone in the audience NOT surprised that Eric (Greg Vaughan) turned out to be the father of Nicole’s baby and not EJ (Dan Feuerriegel)? I mean, the money storyline is Eric fathering two babies with two different women.
