Days of Our Lives (DOOL) appears to be getting a makeover after rumors of cancellation circulated earlier this year.
The 51-year-old soap has a new head writer at the helm now, although Ron Carlvati’s stories won’t be airing until later in the summer due to DAYS’ long lead time. Meanwhile, we’re watching the last of Dena Higley’s scripts, the recently fired writer in charge as the soap hit rating lows.
Along with the writing purge will come some cast purges as well. We already know Vincent Irizarry and Vivian Jovanni were let go, while Arianne Zucker chose to leave the show, but those aren’t the only names we won’t see later this year.
According to the Jason47 DAYS website, several more departures will be announced soon. However, we have yet to learn who will be leaving.
We wonder if DAYS could be letting go of more teen scene actors, as this scene was created by Higley with suddenly SORAS’d character who never truly caught on.
Are these planned exits a way to save money off an already-large cast, meaning some might not be replaced with new characters? Stay tuned as Soap Hub will give more details as we learn more.
