Days of our Lives Ciara Brady Weston is that rare medical curiosity who, a few days after deciding to try and get pregnant, sleeps with her husband and is instantly feeling sick to her stomach and ready to take a pregnancy test.
Of course, that would make sense if something more than regular biology is in play here. Who really fathered Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) child? What over 2,000 potential godparents had to say:
DAYS would never go so far as to have an actual child fathered by the devil, 59% of you insist. Ben is the baby’s daddy. The bigger question is, who owns its soul. Same way he possessed Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), the devil is just biding his time until he can possess little Bo Brady Weston. This isn’t Rosemary’s Baby. This is the Omen. And Salem is going to be feeling it for a good, long time.
Our money is on the option that the writers haven’t made up their minds yet, a smaller 27% of the audience suggests. They’re going to wait and see how this story plays out and the kind of feedback they get from viewers.
Sure, the original Devil possession story rocked DAYS, upped the ratings, and even prompted the launch of Passions. But it’s not the turn of the century anymore. We’ve been through an awful lot in the past two years. Not sure if more evil is what anyone is still in the mood for.
Are you paying attention, 14% wonder. The show practically spelled it out: The Devil fathered Ciara’s baby. He wants to take over the world, and figures, why should God have all the fun with that first begotten son thing? This is going to be a very modern family in Salem. And considering what a devil child Ciara was in her day, the Devil couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate co-parent.
