On Days of our Lives, Tripp Johnson is the current poster child for cluelessness, as he has no idea that his girlfriend — the one he’s about to propose to — cheated on him with her best friend. When Tripp first came to Salem, he was a bit savvier. A bit more scheming. A bit more…sensible. If we can’t get that Tripp back, maybe we can have him be more like the characters his portrayer, Lucas Adams, played before he hit daytime.
On the Disney sitcom Liv & Maddie, Adams played Josh, boyfriend of one titular twin, Maddie. Despite both sisters being played by Dove Cameron, Josh never had trouble telling one from the other — even when the rest of the world did, as demonstrated by this clip.
Considering how two-faced girlfriend Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) has been lately — regarding both Tripp and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) — some of Josh’s discretionary skills might come in handy. If you can tell Liv from Maddie, you should be able to tell Good Allie from Bad Allie.
On Dexter, the serial killer of the title, once had a nightmare about who his son, Harrison, might grow up to be. That son was played by Lucas Adams, and Dexter’s fears involved a chip off the old sociopath. Tripp did show signs of being an unrepentant bastard when he first popped up — even framing Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) for killing a patient. But he soon saw the error of his ways. However, if Allie keeps treating him like a chump, maybe Tripp should recall some of his baser instincts.
Finally, if the Devil Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) insists on messing with Tripp’s relationships, we suggest Adams go after him the way he did after the vampires on True Blood. To see him go demon hunting, click here.
