Alison Sweeney Returns to Days of Our Lives as Sami Brady

Alison Sweeney has come and gone from Salem and Days of Our Lives over the years Now, the actress has some news about her status with the NBC serial.

Sweeney, a Daytime Emmy nominee for her work as Sami, last appeared on the show during the powerful “right to die” story in which “Marlena” (actually, it was Hattie — both played Deidre Hall) was fighting for her life.

While she started out as a troubled teen, Sweeney took Sami through many stages. She began as an instigator who kidnapped her baby sister, Belle (Martha Madison), in order to try to keep her parents’ marriage together.

Sami lied and schemed to get Austin (Patrick Muldoon) into bed, and, then, to the altar. In one of DAYS’ greatest showdowns ever, Carrie (Christie Clark) realized Sami had lied about Austin being Will’s father — Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) was the true dad.

Carrie stopped Sami from trapping Austin into marrying her a second time, confronted her sister, and smacked her to the ground! The moment is so memorable, DAYS made it one of its DAYS Emojis which you can download here.

Sami’s other escapades include being sentenced to death for a murder she didn’t commit, having grief sex with E.J. (James Scott) when they erroneously believed that their son, Johnny (Aaron and Griffin Kunitz), had been killed.

What’s Sami up to next? Is she coming back to reunite with Rafe (Galen Gering) or will she commit some hijinks that will keep everyone on their toes?
