When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

Did I spy, with my little eye, Days of our Lives chemistry testing Martha Madison’s Belle Brady and Daniel Feuerriegel’s EJ DiMera? I surely did. And I didn’t mind it.

I do mind the fact that we’re just supposed to forget that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) was raped by Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) and that Belle might still have a problem forgetting the sight of her husband in bed with her glamoured rival.

If the show were to use that above plot point as the springboard for a Belle/EJ affair, then I’ll applaud them. If this is all just a big tease, I’ll be very, very disappointed.

Further DAYS Musings

* Do you think that Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) ever gets tired of mansplaining things to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold)? I mean, would it have really killed him to just say thank you for the pin she bought him? Also, I’d like to know the name of the Med school Tripp attended. After what seems like six months, he’s a full-fledged M.D.

* I get Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) wanting to protect Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) from the brute that is TR Coates (William Christian), but her daughter is a POLICE OFFICER who’s completely capable of keeping herself and her own family safe. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

What do you think? Post a comment!

* I’m glad that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) was arrested. If being stupid were a chargeable offense, it would have happened a lot sooner. (And there would be a whole lot of other Days of our Lives characters sharing his cell.)

What sane man would continue to sleep with the woman he thinks is trying to bring about his ruination. What sane man would reach out and grab another woman and pull her into a passionate clinch after suggesting that he’s being set up to do just that?

And for everyone Days of our Lives character – or fan for that matter – who says that Rafe would never stoop to committing a crime, I remind that he had no problem covering up Hope Brady’s shooting of Stefano DiMera (the late Joe Mascolo). And then there were all the times that he provided false information, and the beatings he inflicted, and the kidnappings…

* Just when it seemed like Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was finally, FINALLY going to put it all together, he didn’t. Or did he? I’d like to think that there’s more to his proposal to Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) than meets the eye, but he seemed so damn genuine that I’m pretty sure he hasn’t given another thought to the possibility that the Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) who broke up with him wasn’t the genuine article.
