A Critic’s Review of Days of our Lives: Hypnosis, Suspicion, Pregnancy

 Comments

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For a week we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the DAYS week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

Hypnosis. A word that should be forever removed from the soap opera’s vocabulary. Need to remember the identity of the man who sexually assaulted you? Try hypnosis. Wondering whether or not you killed a rapist in cold blood? A hypnosis session is in order. Desperate to meld your mind with that of your imprisoned wife? Believe it or not, hypnosis can help with that too.

And when Ciara (Victoria Konefal) decides to recover her missing memories, can you guess what route she follows? Did we hear you say, “Undergo hypnosis”?

In related news, was anyone surprised that Ciara emerged from her trance without a single happy memory of Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and only the recollection of nearly being burnt to a crisp courtesy of Claire (Isabel Durant)?

As discussed in a previous column, DAYS is stretching out this storyline as far as it can conceivably go. Putting the beloved couple back together again would be far too easy. And with Konefal only interested in appearing on the show part-time, don’t expect Ciara to reclaim her rightful place as Miss Ben Weston anytime soon.

Further DAYS Musings

* Last week, saw the veil of suspicion being lifted from Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Ava (Tamara Braun), and this week Tripp (Lucas Adams) fessed up to being innocent of any wrongdoing.

Thanks to Jan’s (Heather Lindell) keen eye, however, we have a new suspect: Belle Black (Martha Madison).

* Dear Gwen (Emily O’Brien), we have it on good authority that you can drop the “might be” in your previously uttered sentence, “I might be pregnant.”

* Paulina (Jackée Harry) has a plan to bring diversity to Salem, and to get herself a tiny bit closer to Mayor Carver (James Reynolds). Here’s hoping that the PTB allows her to accomplish both tasks. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
