Ever since Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) arrived in Salem in June 2020, Days of our Lives viewers have been wondering when the character’s twin brother, Johnny DiMera, would be following her town. The wait will soon be over, as Carson Boatman is set to debut in the role this summer.
Carson Boatman — The New Johnny DiMera
Taking on the pivotal role last played by Griffin and Aaron Kunitz, Boatman is an actor and producer, who has appeared in the films Runt, Bedeviled, and Devilish Charm. Want more info on the guy? Here are seven things to know about Carson Boatman.
1. He was part of the boy band Citizen Four, which also featured his brother, Conner Boatman. In 2016, they debuted the singles Cold and Mercy. In 2017, Want You Back reached number 21 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart and was followed up by My Name (Say It). Boatman has described Citizen Four’s sound as “dark, sexy, fun and edgy; like a group version of Zayn or The Weeknd.”
2. If Boatman could collaborate musically with anyone, he would pick Tim McGraw. He long remembers listening to the country superstar on the radio and calls him “an incredible artist,” who was a huge inspiration to him.
3. What movies/TV series inspired Boatman’s interest in acting? “Growing up I loved to watch Walker, Texas Ranger,” he says, adding that, as a young kid, he also watched the film, Grease, which helped him “develop a real love for watching movies and creating movies.”
4. He enjoys watching sports; among them, boxing and football. He’s a big fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the football team that represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the West Division of the Big Ten.
5. Boatman has an adorable dog named Willie, who he’s had since he was a pup. The pooch is a German Shepherd-Border Collie-Heeler mix.
6. He’s single, but not for long. Boatman got engaged to model, on-camera host, and actress Julana Dizon in July 2020. The happy couple is planning to wed in July 2021.
7. Boatman is a funny guy. No, seriously. He knows how to crack a joke and deliver a comedy routine He’s performed stand-up at Formosa Cafe and The Federal Bar in Los Angeles. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
