Now that Abigail has split in two, actress Marci Miller is getting the chance to strut her stuff as Gabby, the personality loosely modelled after her best friend.
The new Days of Our Lives character is the complete opposite of sugary sweet Abigail, and, as a viewer, you can’t help but keep your eyes peeled on her every move.
Check out these five things we’re loving about Gabigail.
A Woman in Charge
It’s so nice to see Miller commanding scenes as sassy Gabby. She’s bold; she’s brazen; and she’s totally in control. Miller’s taken to the character turnaround effortlessly, stretching her acting muscles and displaying a range we always knew was there. Now, we’re lucky enough to see it on a regular basis.
Totally Unpredictable
Since Gabby has only aired a couple of times, the best thing about her is that you don’t know what to expect… or how far she’ll go.
Watching her plant that kiss on Stefan (Tyler Christopher) during their first encounter was a total shocker. It makes you wonder what she’ll do for an encore.
From Saint to Sinner
While Abigail has long been a viewer favorite, the character had turned a tad bland since overcoming her mental disorders. It’s one of the pitfalls of playing a saintly soap heroine. Good often becomes synonymous with dull. Meanwhile, sinful Gabby is anything but drab. She’s lively and fun, feisty and fiery, and a true delight to watch.
Glammed Up
Okay, maybe not the awful dark wig. But her makeup -– the richer eyeshadow, darker blush, and especially that magenta lipstick — instantly defines Gabby and totally brightens up Miller’s face. Once the characters integrate, hopefully, Abigail starts wearing that luscious lip color, regularly.
Loving “Stabby”
There’s a smoldering chemistry between Stefan and Gabby. Without the pair even so much as touching hands, you can feel it. It’s the way that they look at each another and the body language between them, when they’re alone together. It makes a Stabby the intriguing new couple to root for.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
