Kassie DePaiva is about to resurface in a major storyline as Days of Our Lives’ Eve Larson.
The character slipped out of Salem in 2016 after DePaiva returned briefly and was then diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Now, cancer free, the actress is ready to tackle life as the complicated Eve — a former hooker-turned-singer, who always makes things interesting when she’s on the canvas.
Here are 5 things we missed about DePaiva and Eve.
Feud: Eve and Jennifer
Move over Bette and Joan. Eve and Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) feud dates back to high school. Girl from the wrong side of the tracks, Eve, immediately loathed Jennifer’s perfect Horton life.
Things picked up where they left off when Eve returned to town, decades later, and sued for her share of the profits of Jack’s book and had an affair with Jennifer’s son, JJ (Casey Moss). We can’t wait to see how the animosity between the twosome manifests this time.
The Love/Hate Factor
No one makes JJ squirm and feel quite as uncomfortable as Eve. Their love/hate relationship has become one of the show’s most intriguing.
With JJ’s life kind of dullsville of late, Eve might be just what the doctor ordered.
Not that we want to see the twosome as lovers again, but it would be fun to have Eve get under JJ’s skin, stir things up, and, perhaps, be the catalyst for reawakening the bad boy in him.
Words With Enemies
Is there anything funnier than hearing Victor’s (John Aniston) latest Eve insult? His hatred of the former hooker always means plenty of barbs will be flung.
It’s become a highlight of the show whenever Eve and Victor are in the same room together. Here’s hoping the duo spend a lot of time in the same room when DePaiva returns.
Justin Time
The Justin (Wally Kurth), Adrienne (Judi Evans), and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) triangle got seriously twisted when Bonnie took over Adrienne’s life. It could get even more complicated when Eve pops back into town.
Remember, she and Justin had been dating and were on the brink of a real romance. The pair’s fiery chemistry could easily reignite and derail any hopes of a real Justin and Adrienne reunion.
The Mentor
After losing her daughter Paige (True O’Brien) to The Necktie Killer, Eve was emotionally destroyed. As she tried to heal from her deep grief, she developed a special bond with Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan).
Eve began encouraging Shawn and Belle’s daughter to pursue her singing talent and music career and seemed en route to becoming her mentor. With Belle out of Salem, it would be nice to see that relationship resurface and prosper.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
