Rafe’s proposed to Hope on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), and she finally gave him an answer — yes.
The couple is officially engaged. However, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) has been putting off setting a wedding date. Why’s she dragging her feet to tie the knot with the handsome cop? We can’t think of one good reason.
But here are five reasons why DAYS should get these two hitched.
Life Goes On
Enough time has passed since Bo’s (Peter Reckell) death. It’s been a respectable two years. Hope’s grieved her beloved husband properly and honored his memory, as well as their great love. Life goes on, and she should move forward with Rafe.
Bo’s Blessing
Speaking of Bo, before he succumbed to a brain tumor, he confronted Rafe about his feelings for Hope. Bo could sense his love for her. He asked Rafe to look out for his wife after he was gone, and Rafe has. It’s as if Bo handpicked the man who would be Hope’s next husband. And he chose well.
Family Man
While Rafe may not have any children of his own, he’s definitely a family man. He’s looked out for his little sister Gabi (Camila Banus), since she was a kid.
He was also great stepfather to Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) twins, Johnny and Allie, as well as Will. Hope’s daughter Ciara has always adored him, and her son Shawn has accepted him into the fold, too.
Blue Bloods
Hope’s a policewoman, and she definitely has a thing for men in blue. Bo was a cop, and Rafe is one, too. Once again, she’ll be part of a crime-fighting marital team. And who better to have your back on the Salem PD than your own husband?
Good Guy
Since he arrived in Salem, Rafe’s quickly found his niche as one of the show’s heroes. He’s a genuinely good guy, who looks out for the greater good. He did battle with the DiMeras for years and helped cover up Hope’s shooting of the clan’s kingpin, Stefano. In many ways, he behaves a lot like Bo.
