With his fate as awkward nice-guy-turned-rapist Charlie pretty much sealed at Days of our Lives, Mike Manning could easily appear on another soap. If a casting director or executive producer on one of the other three daytime dramas has been watching his work, they should be trying to configure a way to bring the talented actor onto their show. Need ideas? Soap Hub has them.

Into the Mob

Manning can play quirky and cool, tender and tough, funny and slick; all of which would make him a perfect addition to a General Hospital crime family. The soap’s already cast Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) mother and brother. How about his son?

He could be reluctant to take his place in the family business, a la Michael Corleone, or power-hungry and eager to grab hold of the reins. To spice things up, how about if the character caught the eye of Sonny and Alexis’s daughter Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth)? The sexually fluid character hasn’t been involved in a romance since leaving Parker (Ashley Jones).

You Gotta Have Faith

Since Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) metamorphosis into an incorrigible teenager on The Young and the Restless, she’s been getting into all kinds of trouble. How about casting Manning as a shady newcomer to Genoa City, who catches her interest and vice versa? Faith could develop a wild crush on him, while he could have an agenda that makes him prey on the Newman heiress and lead her down a darker path. As an added bonus, he could be in cahoots with Jordan (Madison Thompson).

The Spencer Way

The Bold and the Beautiful fans have already welcomed two of Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) surprise sons into the fold. How about a third? Only this one would be a calculating carbon copy of Dollar Bill. He could come to town to seek out his dear old dad and finagle a job at Spencer Publications. The character would immediately develop a rivalry with his half-brothers Liam (Scott Clifton) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and make a play for either Hope (Annika Noelle), Flo (Katrina Bowden) — or both.
