Nicole Walker’s suddenly single on Days of our Lives, now that Eric Brady’s learned she cheated on him with Xander Cook and headed back to Africa. It’s the first time in over a year that the character is totally free to dive into a new storyline with a new man.

Where should the soap’s writers take her next? Here are three key ways to put Nicole back in the Days of our Lives spotlight.
DOOL: With Friends Like These…
Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Ava (Tamara Braun) have forged a strong friendship. They’re real gal pals, who confide in each other about love, life, and men. Nicole opened up to Ava about her fling with Xander (Paul Telfer), and Ava revealed she’d taken things to the next level with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). The two women truly support each other.
However, there is a problem: Nicole has feelings for Rafe, and Rafe, despite sleeping with Ava, has been dreaming about Nicole. Exploring a Nicole/Rafe/Ava triangle would be intriguing and present all kinds of complications.
How would righteous Rafe reconcile with coming between two best friends, let alone possibly cheating on Ava with Nicole? As for Nicole, she’d have to weigh the pros and cons of forsaking friendship for romance. Plus, remember, Ava’s always been obsessive when it comes to her lovers and doesn’t react well to losing them.

Days of our Lives: Brady Black’s World
Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) been pining away for Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), who suddenly decided to switch gears and commit to Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). Meanwhile, crazy Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) is hovering in the distance, still all-consumed with Brady.
What if Nicole re-entered Brady’s orbit as a love interest again? It would definitely amp things up and force Kristen to decide who’s the bigger threat, Chloe or Nicole, and then strike, accordingly.
New DiMera Hook-Up
The logical DiMera for Nicole to hook up with would be EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) They were once married and shared a passionate past. So revisiting that coupling would be easy. But what if the soap decided to go another route and pair Nicole up with Jake (Brandon Barash)?
It’s a twist no one would see coming; especially Gabi (Camila Banus), who just reconciled with the man she loves. Watching Nicole and Gabi go head-to-head might be even more fun and fiery than it was watching Nicole and Sami Brady DiMera fight it out over EJ.
