10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Eric Martsolf

10. A native of Harrisburg, PA, Martsolf had quite the entertainer’s life before he ever stepped foot in daytime. The actor sang on a cruise ship, modeled for top designers, sang and danced in Pennsylvania’s Hershey Park, as well as in Tennessee’s Dollywood. Despite all this performing, Martsolf’s degree is actually in political science.

    

9. Martsolf finally made it to the airwaves when his theme park career ended and became a radio broadcaster for WDCV.

   

8. Martsolf finally made his way to Hollywood in the late 1990s where he auditioned for the role of Ethan Winthrop on the now-defunct “Passions.” He did not get the role, but instead made a brief appearance as a cop.

   

7. That cop appearance must have been memorable because in 2002, Martsolf finally won the role of Ethan, a character he played until the soap left the airwaves in 2008.

   

6. During his time as Ethan, Martsolf was voted favorite actor for 80 weeks in a row by Soap Opera Digest readers.

   

5. NBC came calling before “Passions” was even a distant memory and cast Martsolf as Brady Black in 2008. He was a replacement for Kyle Lowder and quickly made the role his own.

   

4. In 2010, Martsolf had double duty as Brady on “Days” and on a web series called “Miss Behave” where he starred with his soap co-stars Jillian Clare, Victoria Archer, and Darin Brooks.

   

3. Martsolf did not neglect his personal life for his career and has been married to Lisa Kouchak since 2003. The pair have two sons together—Chase Evan and Mason Alan.

   

2. When not on soaps, Martsolf has appeared in a variety of primetime series, including “NCIS” and “Smallville.” He also had bit parts in several independent films, including “The Cheater” and “Small Steps.”

   

1. Matsolf’s work as Brady has not gone unrecognized and in 2014 he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
