Tony Hutchinson’s estranged, biological family is about to gain a new member thanks to the hiring of actress Eva O’Hara, who will be making her debut on the British soap in January 2020.
Welcome, Eva O’Hara
O’Hara’s hiring was announced via the program’s official Twitter account in a post that reads in part, “New Cast Member Alert! Let’s give a warm welcome to the wonderful Eva O’Hara…She’ll be hitting your screens very soon…”
Further coverage in the Radio Times described the character as, “very much a spoiled daddy’s girl…high-achieving, sharp-witted and entitled.” In addition, the article teases that she arrives in the titular village with plans to open her own law firm and will quickly make the acquaintance of a local character whom she engages in a “lusty liaison.”
Hollyoaks will serve as O’Hara’s first television assignment since her graduation from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In a conversation with the nascent actress, she described Verity as, “Absolutely fantastic! She can hold her own in any situation and really doesn’t take no for an answer.”

O’Hara’s first episode will not actually be on Hollyoaks proper. Instead, she will first appear in an episode of Hollyoaks Later, a late-night companion series that will air on E4 on Monday, January 6 at 9 p.m.
It remains to be seen whether or not big brother Tony (Nick Pickard) will welcome Verity with open arms since he is currently the injured hostage of serial killer Brenda McQueen (Moya Brady), who has him stashed away at her pig farm.
Hollyoaks airs in its home country of Great Britain every weeknight at 6:30 on Channel 4 alongside a special “First Look” of the next day’s episode airing at 7 p.m. on digital station E4.
