Sue Nicholls is a British actress who is best known for playing Audrey Roberts on Coronation Street for 40 years.

Who Is Sue Nicholls?
She was born on November 23 in Darlaston, Walsall and attended the School of St. Mary and St. Anne before she went on to graduate from the famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Soap Career
Nicholls began playing Audrey Roberts in Coronation Street in 1979, but she became a regular cast member in 1985. She won the British Soap Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2000 and the British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance in 2003. She was also awarded the British Soap Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2019.
Double Threat
Along with her acting career, Nicholls has also had success as a singer. A song she performed on the show Crossroads, Where Will You Be?, actually charted on the U.K. Singles Charts back in the ’60s. She’s also performed in cabaret shows throughout her career.
Fan Diagnosis
A woman named Anna Bianconi-Moore was watching an episode of Coronation Street back in 2011 when she noticed a mole on Nicholls’ shoulder. She contacted the show and encouraged Nicholls to have the mole looked at. As it turned out, Nicholls was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and the mole was removed. Bianconi-Moore was invited to the Coronation Street set in order to meet Nicholls so she could thank her!
Getting Personal With Sue Nicholls
The actress met her eventual husband, Mark Eden, at a party in 1983. They married 10 years later in 1993. Homelife blended into work-life when Eden joined Coronation Street to play the villainous Alan Bradley.
