Five Fast Facts About British Soap Star Alex Fletcher

Alex Fletcher is a British actress who has appeared as Diane O’Connor in Hollyoaks for close to a decade. She was also on Brookside.

Along with her work on British soaps, Fletcher has been on shows such as Doctors, M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team, and Suburban Mayhem. From where she was born and raised to her children, here are five fast facts about the actress.

Who Is Alex Fletcher?

She was born on July 8 in Childwall, Liverpool, England, where she was also raised. She started acting at around the age of 14 when she was cast as Jacqui Farnham on the soap opera Brookside.

Soap Career
The actress stayed on the soap for 13 years until the beloved show was canceled in 2003. Then, after appearing in a few other things, she joined Hollyoaks in August of 2010 as Diane O’Connor. She has been on the show ever since.

Acting Break
After almost two decades as an actress, Fletcher decided to take a break and try something new. She began training to become a fitness instructor and qualified in 2009. She started teaching classes at a number of locations before she got back into acting.

Reality Star

Along with being an actress and a fitness instructor, Fletcher has also appeared on a few reality shows. She was a contestant on Celebrity Masterchef in July of 2010, and she also came in second place on Come Dine with Me in 2012.

She met her husband, Neil Davies, when he joined the cast of Brookside in 2000. The couple then married in 2003 and welcomed their first child, daughter Yasmin, in June 2005. She then welcomed their second child, son Hanson, on June 3, 2016, after an ectopic pregnancy the year prior.
