Why We Hope Eric and Quinn’s Bold and the Beautiful Divorce Is Messy

Sure, The Bold and the Beautiful is set in the fashion world, but the half-hour soap opera has seen its share of courtroom drama over the years. If Eric Forrester and Quinn Fuller Forrester can’t reach an amicable agreement now that their marriage is over, viewers could be in for a spectacular legal battle that could be both epic and quite messy.

The Bold and the Beautiful – Irreconcilable Differences

Quinn (Rena Sofer) and Eric (John McCook) were headed for a divorce a while back after he first learned of her affair with Forrester Creations Chief Operating Officer Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Eric’s family was only too happy to see the patriarch move on with his life. However, after Quinn dropped by the office to talk to her estranged spouse, things started to change. Eric’s guard was up, but Quinn said she wasn’t concerned with a settlement as he’d always been so generous with her.

Soon, Eric realized he didn’t want Quinn out of his life — well until he reignited his relationship with Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis). The fact that both Eric and Quinn both have been unfaithful shows that neither has clean hands in all this.

The War of the Forresters

Quinn’s already mentioned to Eric that it’s best if their lawyers handle the legalities of their split. Wouldn’t it be entertaining to see two lawyers go into court and try to paint either Quinn or Eric as the main oppressor? “She cheated first!” “He took her back!” Think of the ammunition both attorneys would have should Forrester v. Forrester go to trial.

Quinn’s lawyer could argue that not only did Eric take her back after her affair with Carter but that Eric’s family was relentless in their dislike of Quinn. Remember Pam Douglas (Alley Mills), Eric’s sister-in-law, trying to keep her late sister Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) portrait in a place of honor?

However, all Eric’s attorney would have to do is point out all of Quinn’s evil deeds. Like the time she pushed Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) into the Seine to keep Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) from proposing to Hope Logan! These examples just scratch the surface of what could be brought up at trial.

Paging The Bold and the Beautiful’s Connor Davis

Just how badly does each of them want a divorce? That would likely play into the proceedings. Would Eric have to forfeit some of his Forrester Creations stock to get Quinn out of his life? And how secure can Carter’s position be at Forrester if things get complicated? While Carter could represent Quinn (although that might be a conflict), Eric would need to get a lawyer. Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) calling up old pal Connor Davis (Scott Thompson Baker) and asking him to represent Eric would bring back a familiar face to the show and potentially annoy Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), given his history with Connor.

Many soap fans found the real-life courtroom drama involving actors Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Amber Heard (Aquaman) highly compelling, given all the personal drama that was shared. Perhaps B&B could tap into that audience if Eric and Quinn find themselves in front of a judge.
