Darin Brooks finally made a return appearance as Wyatt Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful this week after not having been seen for months. In fact, he hasn’t had a storyline in nearly two years and we haven’t seen his fiance, Flo Fulton, in nearly one year, but that doesn’t mean when Brooks is on screen, it’s always a treat. It’s also a shame that we don’t see him more, but it’s Brooks’ schedule that has kept him away of late.
Darin Brooks Can Always Put A Smile On Our Faces
Brooks got his soap opera start as Max Brady on Days of our Lives in 2005 and by 2009, he had won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor In A Drama Series. In 2021, he was nominated again for playing Wyatt, a character who always has something witty to say as he remains the voice of sanity and reason in his family.
Yes, Wyatt has done some wild and impulsive things, his romance with former stepmother Katie Logan (Heather Tom) being one of them, but between Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and Wyatt, Brooks delivers as the Spencer man who can see everyone’s mistakes even when they can’t.
Even when Wyatt does flaky things like dumping Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) twice in one year for his high school sweetheart, Flo Logan (Katrina Bowden), Brooks can’t help but make him endearing because everything Wyatt does seems to come from the heart, however misguided it may be. In that way, he is like his mother, Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer), but he doesn’t have the insane streak she once displayed.
When Brooks’ schedule allows, he needs to be driving the story once again as he is leading man material even when given backburner plots to play. If it’s over between him and Flo in the end, there is so much more that Wyatt can do and we can’t wait to see it.
