The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Jones and Alicia-Leigh Willis have more in common than having been cast members on General Hospital. Both soap stars started out as young actresses on daytime. Now, they’re playing adult roles in a Lifetime movie thriller.
Ashley Jones and Alicia-Leigh Willis Team Up
“Anybody remember the @lifetimetv movie I made last year in Georgia in the height of the pandemic?” Jones asked on Instagram. “Well… a name change later, Saving My Daughter airs on April 16th! @lifetimemovies.” Check out Jones’ post below to see the film’s poster.
“Love working with you @mikefeifer!” Jones added, giving a shoutout to the film’s director. “Thanks for letting me learn from you and ask a million questions. #shadowing #aspiringdirector @emilyskinner @alicialeighwillis @thedrewwaters @laurie4ta.”
Saving My Daughter tells the story of a mother, Joanna Kennedy (played by Willis), whose life was turned upside down after her then-3-year-old daughter Chloe (Emily Skinner), went missing only to be returned six months later.
Now, Chloe’s turned 18, but Joanna is still struggling to put the ordeal behind her — especially after Chloe goes missing again! Joanna is determined to find out if Chloe’s gone off on her own — or if her two disappearances are connected to the woman (presumably, Jones’ Mandy) who took her all those years ago!
Jones started out in soaps playing Megan Dennison on The Young and the Restless in 1997. She is perhaps best known for her run as Bridget Forrester, which began in 2004. The actress continues to recur on the half-hour CBS soap opera. Willis, in addition to playing Courtney on GH, began her soap career in 1999 as Alli in the final year of Another World.
On GH, Parker was Kristina’s (Lexi Ainsworth) college professor. Kristina developed feelings for her teacher, but Parker didn’t let the relationship advance given the nature of their relationship — at least not at first.
Willis’s Courtney was Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) half-sister. She had romances with both Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Nikolas. She gave birth to Nikolas’s son Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) and died shortly thereafter. Willis reprised Courtney last year to help usher her dad Mike (Max Gail) to the great beyond. Saving My Daughter airs on Lifetime Movies on Friday, April 16.
