Soaps have a fairly quick lead time. Taped episodes can air a few weeks or even less after they’ve been produced. But as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darin Brooks knows, movies are a different story.
The Bold and the Beautiful Moonlighting
Brooks, who plays Wyatt on BB, and his wife, Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac, The Young and the Restless), both took part in a film titled Reboot Camp that appears to have been shot over a year ago as Kruger is pregnant in the movie’s clip, seen below. The couple’s daughter Everleigh was born in September 2019.
“Hey! Look at who it is!!!” Brooks tweeted. “Congrats to @davidlipper and his latest film @rebootcampfilm going to the @austinfilmfest!! 🙌🙌🙌 Looks so funny dude! Thanks for letting us play!! Check out the trailer!”
In the clip, Brooks is wearing a T-shirt that reads: “TAKE IT EASY ON ME. MY WIFE IS PREGNANT.” Kruger’s got a craving so she asks her hubby to get her a stick of butter(!) At first, he hesitates as a party is going on, but Kruger insists and off Brooks goes to locate some butter.
The film’s producer, David Lipper, may be familiar to fans of Full House and its revival series Fuller House as the character Viper opposite Candace Cameron Bure’s D.J. He appeared in the original series in its final season and in the new program, too.
The plot for Reboot Camp has a man named Seymour (Lipper) discovering that his wife has blown their life savings on self-help gurus. Seymour teams up with his brother Danny, a filmmaker, to document how simple it can be to start a fake self-help group and trick people into putting their faith into anything. Watch for the Reboot Camp to take on a life of its own and grow into a full-blown cult!
Reboot Camp also features Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere) Chaz Bono (who played a faux minister on BB), Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas), Eric Roberts (ex-Vance, YR), and many more. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
