Sean Kanan Joins Cobra Kai
The handsome actor who is beloved as Deacon Sharpe on B&B revealed the big news right on schedule saying, “So excited to FINALLY announce that Mike Barnes will be a part of season 5! @healdrules @jonhurwitz & @McSchlossberg wrote me an awesome story. This was fantastic news for longtime fans of his, who enjoyed when he played bad boy Mike Barnes in The Karate Kid III back in 1989. His character was a villain, alongside former Another World star Thomas Ian Griffith (ex-Catlin Ewing), who has also joined the Cobra Kai series.
They aren’t the only soap stars to live in both universes. Tamlyn Tomita, who originally starred as Kumiko in Karate Kid II before joining the soap world as Ming Li on Santa Barbara, Giselle on General Hospital, and Dr. Ellen Yu on Days of our Lives, has also shown up on Cobra Kai. The actress is also well known for her role opposite former As The World Turns star Ming-Na Wen in the film, The Joy Luck Club.
