Taking a getaway to Las Vegas turned out to be a smart move on Shauna Fulton’s part as it resulted in her becoming Mrs. Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful! Shauna’s portrayer, Denise Richards, also sees the value in getting away from it all!
Denise Richards: Keeping The Love Alive
Richards, who joined the BB cast last year and who also appears on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as herself, recently was on The Rachel Hollis Show on Quibi and shared a secret about how she puts her marriage to Aaron Phypers first!
“In normal circumstances, my husband and I, we take one weekend a month, we go to a hotel, where it’s just us,” she said. “We don’t feel guilty about it and we have our adult time and I think it’s a very important thing for any couple to [know] it’s OK to reconnect and not feel guilty having your household taken care of.”
Richards has three daughters: Sam, 16, and Lola Rose, 15, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men), and Richards adopted Eloise Joni, 9, prior to marrying Phypers.

The Bold and the Beautiful is not the only show where Richards is in the thick of the drama. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, castmate Brandi Glanville (ex-wife of Eddie Cibrian, ex-Matt, The Young and the Restless) claimed that she’d had an affair with Richards. The BB actress denied this in an interview with the Washington Post.
“I did not have an affair,” Richards said. “There’s definitely consistency with the subject matter that comes up on this Housewives season, and that’s all I’ll say … If I had an open marriage, I would be open about it.”
Richards and Phypers not only make time for each other in their personal lives, but the couple is also working together. Phypers has stepped in to double for Richards’ BB husband Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) to help lessen the potential spread of COVID-19. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
