Shauna Fulton Forrester may have a long way to go before she becomes Queen of the Forrester family on The Bold and the Beautiful, but her portrayer, Denise Richards, is already living the royal life.
Denise Richards: French Royal
“Final touches….” Richards posted on Instagram from the set of Glow & Darkness, an international series that depicts the life of Saint Francis of Assisi and focuses on popular historical figures such as Richard the Lionheart, Leonor of Aquitaine (Jane Seymour), and Pope Urban II (Bruce Davison). Richards credited her mask-wearing colleagues in her post — makeup: @aneamoriza hair: @amparosanchezgracia @finaespert.
Richards is not quite playing a queen, but instead the character of Countess Marie Champagne, who lived from 1145 to 1198. She was the elder daughter of King Louis VII of France and Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Richards and Seymour have more than Glow & Darkness in common: They’re both (James) Bond Girls. Seymour appeared as the character Solitaire opposite Roger Moore in Live and Let Die in 1973. Richards was Dr. Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough in 1999, opposite Pierce Brosnan in the role of 007.
Jose Luis Moreno is directing Glow & Darkness. Alejandro Gillermo Roemmers created the series and co-wrote the first season with Moreno. The series does not have a distributor and there’s no word yet on when (or where) it will be available.
Glow & Darkness went on a production hiatus earlier this year due to the coronavirus. Like BB, the series is back up and running. Richards recently left Los Angeles to return to Spain to continue her work on the show.
Watch for her to continue regularly on BB as Shauna conspires with her pal Quinn (Rena Sofer) to make sure that she gets to hang onto Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), whom she duped into marriage. Will her secrets be found out, or will Ridge develop genuine feelings for his new bride? Stay tuned to find out. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
