As the season gets colder, and the days longer, soap fans long for a holiday filled with nostalgia, family, and drama from their favorite daytime shows. Soap Hub takes a look at a few standout episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful from Christmases past.

Classic Christmas Episodes For The Bold and the Beautiful

Jackie M Is All The Rage
Jackie Marone (Lesley-Anne Down) and her son Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) teamed up with Spectra Fashions’ head designer, Clarke Garrison (Daniel McVicar), and then merged Jackie M Boutiques with M Designs — Jackie M Designs rose to prominence once again in 2009. Her good friend Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) who had suffered the loss of her marriage, her business, and the death of her mother, had joined her for Christmas, along with all the employees and their families to celebrate a fruitful year.

Nick and his lovely wife Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) also had much to celebrate, having learned their surrogate, Sandra Sommers (AKA Aggie Jones; portrayed by Sarah Joy Brown) was pregnant. Owen Knight (Brandon Beemer) joined his wife Jackie. Pam Douglas (Alley Mills) tagged along with Stephanie. Whip Jones (Rick Hearst) worked at Jackie M but also supported his cousin Sandra/Aggie. There were champagne toasts, holiday music (thanks to Jack Wagner’s Nick), a Christmas story, and even a prayer. It was a festive holiday gathering that ticked a lot of storyline boxes. What more could a fan ask Santa for?

Real Life Meets Reel Life In Los Angeles
In the months leading up to Christmas Day in 2010, Executive Producer and Head Writer, Brad Bell, introduced a homelessness storyline and promised it would be a part of The Bold and the Beautiful canvas for a while. The character of Dayzee Leigh (Kristolyn Lloyd), a homeless woman taking care of another’s child on the streets of Los Angeles was introduced to the canvas when Stephanie lost her expensive scarf on the streets of L.A. Skid Row. After a rocky introduction that found Dayzee threatening the Beverly Hills matron with a broken bottle, the two women ended up becoming friends. Stephanie was struggling to battle stage 4 lung cancer and their friendship inspired the Forrester matriarch to fight her cancer and help heal poverty head-on.

Stephanie wanted to do something special for Dayzee. Something to offer her a solid foundation to build her life around. She purchased C.J. Garrison’s (Mick Cain) coffee shop Insomnia, and, on Christmas Day, gifted it to the gal who gave her a new lease on life. Dayzee stayed a part of the B&B family for years and ended up marrying the Forrester’s adopted son Marcus. The powerful storyline was loved by fans and critics alike, earning The Bold and the Beautiful a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Show and Lloyd took home an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress.

Finding Joy After Loss
Many people may not be aware of this but John McCook’s first love is musical theater. Over at The Bold and the Beautiful, the writers know this and gift his character, Eric Forrester, with a chance to sing whenever they can. Usually around the holidays. In 2012, Stephanie Forrester lost her battle with lung cancer in a cabin located in Big Bear, California, surrounded by family, and at the same time, Eric lost his musical mojo. By Christmas in 2013, he found his voice again and his fingers magically took to the piano keys leading the Forrester clan in song. Surely, Stephanie was watching over her loved ones, and fans were treated with a holiday miracle.
