In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 31, 2023, everything seems to be coming up roses for Steffy and Finn — “seems” being the operative word.
Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
In addition, Deacon tries and fails to temper Sheila’s expectations, and little puke Liam continues to live up to his new nickname. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
B&B Recap: Double Trouble
Despite obviously having taken to life at the Forrester mansion, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) surprised her dad and granddad when she announced that she intends to return home to Finn (Tanner Novlan).
As for what’s changed, not much, really. But Steffy has decided to take her husband at his word that he’ll keep her and the children safe from his mother. Also, she really, really wants to be back in her own home with Finn. And even though she sees Sheila every time she looks at her husband, she refuses to give up. She’s not losing her family because of that psychopath.

A displeased Ridge groused about his daughter’s stubborn determination and declared her hardheaded. To that, Eric (John McCook) wondered where she got that from. After briefly deliberating, father and son both decided it was from her same-named grandmother.
Ridge waxed nostalgic about what life would be like if his mom was still around, and Eric insisted that if Stephanie were around, Sheila would not be. Steph would “eat her up and spit her out.”
Meanwhile, Finn swung by Liam’s (Scott Clifton) office to make sure that he was staying away from Steffy. Liam laid the blame for Finn and Steffy’s estrangement at Finn’s feat and dared him to prove that he was no longer vulnerable to Sheila. And just how was Finn to do that? By rid of his birth mother, that’s how!
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: If Wishes Were Horses
At Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan), Sheila’s attempts to knead the knots out of his shoulders and back proved fruitless. Deacon was just far too stressed — what with harboring her and putting his relationships with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hope (Annika Noelle) at risk, not to mention his livelihood.
And then there was Sheila’s fervent desire to achieve rapprochement with Finn. Deacon was sure her attempts would fail, but Sheila wasn’t. No, she believed in the unconditional love and bond between mother and son, and she was certain that she and Finn could forge a true relationship. And what’s more, she intended for it to happen that very day!
B&B Recap: Reunited And It Feels So Good
Though it meant cutting his contentious convo with Liam short (drats!), Finn happily agreed to meet Steffy at their home. No sooner had he arrived and begun cleaning up the mess he’d made than Steffy arrived (so all the cardboard garbage wound up hidden in the sink).
Finn was beyond pleased to see his wife and even more so when she announced that she was coming home to him. Oh happy, happy day!
