Ridge Forrester has plenty of fashion sense as a top designer at Forrester Creations on Bold and the Beautiful. But what about his business sense or common sense? Or, for that matter, common decency? He wants his dad to acknowledge his proper role at Forrester, and that’s not sitting well with the family patriarch.
Ridge Forrester: Taking Control
Sure, Ridge and Katie (Heather Tom) have points when they say that companies need to evolve, and no one is disregarding Eric’s (John McCook) role at Forrester Creations, the company he helped build. At the same time, Eric’s not receiving full support from everyone at the company regarding his line. Is Ridge wrong to want to grab the full reins before Eric is ready to step down? Soap Hub posed this question to B&B fans.
B&B: Right Move, Wrong Time
A small percentage of you, about 9%, say that Ridge is doing what he’s doing because he wants to run Forrester all by himself. He feels that this is the only way to run the company — have one person at the top. Ridge believes that doing two lines isn’t fiscally responsible. He’ll be wrong, of course, if Eric’s line is a hit.
Ridge Forrester: Fathers and Sons
A slightly larger percentage, around 11%, say that Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) wants Eric to step down because he’s genuinely concerned for his dad. He wants him to take care of himself and enjoy life. Ironically, as Ridge himself loves to design, he just can’t see that what makes his father happy is what he’s doing right now — creating fashions.
Bold and the Beautiful: Fashion Failure
The majority of you, about 80%, say that Ridge is wrong to try to pull a power play with his dad. As RJ pointed out, anyone who comes in after Eric at Forrester Creations is riding his coattails. Eric should be respected. If he wants to design this new line, Ridge should allow that. Are finances truly the issue? Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) should juggle the numbers around so that both Ridge’s line and Eric’s line can be designed, manufactured, and distributed. Both men have turned out so many successful lines it’s hard to believe they won’t do so this time.
