Many have come and gone over the decades on The Bold and the Beautiful. Topping the list of beloved cast members fans miss is Bobbie Eakes, who played Macy Alexander Forrester on the half-hour soap. Now, she has an exciting new role!

Catching Up With Bobbie Eakes

Eakes is set to star on the Los Angeles stage in This Side of Crazy by Del Shores. “It is so great to be working with these talents!” the actress posted on Facebook.

This Side of Crazy tells the story of the Blaylock Sisters. The play is a comedy all about fame, family, and finding your way back home. The cast of characters includes Rachel, a Christian vlogger, who still has sex with her comatose husband and Abigail, a chain-smoking virgin with anger management issues.

There is also, Bethany, a closeted atheist stripper. When the women’s overbearing stage mother Ditty ‘volunteers’ her daughters to do a star-studded reunion performance, all hell breaks loose!

“And off we go!!” Shores posted on Instagram. “Sunday was the read-through of my latest play THIS SIDE OF CRAZY with LA cast – Dale Dickey, @bobbie.eakes @rachelsorsa and @sgarrisonactor.

“Our awesome stage manager is Letitia Chang. Lotta talent at this table. I love directing amazing actors. These are exquisite! The play runs January 31 to March 8 at @zephyrtheatre. If you are in LA, close to LA or visiting during that time, please come see my new story! TIX: www.Delshores.com

Eakes first joined the cast of BB in 1989 as Macy Alexander, the daughter of Sally Spectra (the late Darlene Conley). Macy and Thorne (Jeff Trachta; Winsor Harmon) played out a star-crossed romance that ended in death when Macy died following a tanker explosion.

It turned out her father Adam (Michael Swan) had helped her escape and the two of them went off to Europe. Years later, Thorne and Macy reunited abroad. She returned to Los Angeles only to lose Thorne to her pal Darla (Schae Harrison).

Macy fell into a coma after a chandelier was rigged to fall on her while she was singing at a nightclub. Alas, Macy perished off-screen — or did she? The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
