Sheila Carter is never more dangerous than when she’s been cornered or after her schemes have been exposed. For her portrayal of a woman who now has nothing to lose, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week honors for B&B on Sheila’s portrayer, Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Kimberlin Brown.

Kimberlin Brown – Performer of the Week

Currently, Sheila Carter is in a familiar setting — behind bars — but that hasn’t dampened her passion for wanting what she wants. In fact, Sheila, like a wild tigress, should be treated with great caution especially now. “I’m not talking to you or the D.A. without my attorney,” Sheila coldly informed Deputy Chief Baker (Dan Martin). Kimberlin Brown’s cool delivery was a reminder that even when Sheila’s been caught, she never gives up whatever control she still possesses.

“What happened in the alley was a tragic accident,” Sheila maintained to Baker, who told the jailed suspect that that weak explanation wasn’t going to hold any water at her trial. Next, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) entered the holding area unafraid of the woman who threw her life into turmoil.

In the last several months, we’ve been Brooke acting helpless, doubting herself, wondering how she ever could have fallen off the wagon, which resulted in her ending up in bed with ex-lover Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). Even though nothing happened between them, the sexless encounter was enough to drive a wedge between Brooke and her husband Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). Armed with the truth (Sheila switched bottle labels so Brooke ended up getting smashed on ‘non-alcoholic’ bubbly), a confident Brooke, smartly dressed in a dark power suit, blasted Sheila for her actions. Brooke got her payback but Kimberlin Brown’s Sheila wasn’t interested in hearing what Brooke had to say.

Brooke yelled at Sheila, telling her that she killed her own son (Finn, Tanner Novlan), shot Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), leaving her a widow and their son, little Hayes, fatherless. Brooke also chided Sheila for disrupting her life. While Brooke said hurting her marriage to Ridge wasn’t in the same league as killing Finn, Sheila saw things differently. “Oh, that’s what this is really about — not that my son is gone or Steffy’s life is shattered…you want me to feel sorry for what I did to you? Oh, God, you are pathetic,” Sheila calmly stated.

Sheila maintained that if she could go back and change things, she would. (We believe her.) “But I will never, never apologize for what I did to you,” Sheila grimly added. (We believe that, too!) Chained to her chair, Sheila tried to go after Brooke physically but the shackles provided by the county prevented that from happening.

“You never learn, Brooke. You should never threaten me,” Sheila stated as she glared at the blonde beauty. Before being taken back to her cell, Sheila maniacally laughed and informed Brooke she’d be back. It wasn’t a threat as far as Sheila was concerned — merely a matter of fact. Given Sheila’s history, we can see her making good on her word. Fans of Kimberlin Brown and her interpretation of her evil alter-ego wouldn’t have it any other way.

Honorable Mention: Kudos must go to Katherine Kelly Lang for reminding us just how strong Brooke can be. The days of Sheila and Brooke uniting against the late Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and Brooke hiring Sheila to be her liaison with the Forresters following the battle for BeLieF are long gone. We suspect it’ll be quite sometime before Sheila’s able to pull one over on our beloved Brooke.
