Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Quick Return And A Character Twist

 Comments

Who’s coming and who’s going from the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of Our Lives (Days), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week of July 12, 2021

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

Days of our Lives

Greg Vaughan is finally returning to DAYS as Eric Brady. Look for the character to share a happy reunion with his TV wife, Nicole (Arianne Zucker), on Thursday, July 15. Vaughan, who last aired in September of 2020, is back for a limited run on the soap. He was only back on set filming for a week.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Over at The Bold and the Beautiful, what looked like the end of the road for Aaron D. Spears isn’t. Although his character, Justin Barber, betrayed his longtime pal, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), Spears won’t be exiting the soap. But he will segue in a new direction.

Kiara Barnes made her final appearance as B&B’s Zoe Buckingham when her character took off on a business trip to Paris. The actress has exited the soap to appear in the FOX nighttime series Fantasy Island, a reboot of the 1977 to 1984 classic.

Former NFL player and current The Price Is Right model Devin Goda plays a prison guard on Monday, July 12. He’ll share scenes with Scott Clifton’s Liam.

General Hospital

General Hospital’s mob presence continues to be front and center. Patrick Zeller pops back in as Joey Novak, the son of the family’s kingpin, Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto). Zeller has previously had bit parts on As the World Turns, One Life to Live, and All My Children.

Arlondriah Lenyéa is playing N’neka, the bartender working at Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) new club, The Savoy.

The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless is losing one of its most popular leading ladies, but it’s only temporary. Melissa Claire Egan exits Genoa City as Chelsea Lawson, this week, when her character heads off to take care of her mother, Anita (Catherine Bach). The storyline move was dictated by the actress’ real-life maternity leave. Chelsea will continue to have an onscreen presence, appearing, sporadically, in video calls.
