The Bold and the Beautiful viewers learned late last week that John ‘Finn’ Finnigan is adopted. Soon, Steffy’s groom is being reunited with his birth mother and the secret is out as to who that woman is!
Kimberlin Brown Returns As Sheila
Entertainment Tonight aired an exclusive clip from B&B on Monday night that showed a tuxedo-clad Finn (Tanner Novlan), looking at his wedding band. “Congratulations,” a woman in the shadows says to Finn. “Who are you?” Finn asks. Then, Sheila reveals herself and announces, “I’m your mother.”
Fans were speculating as to who could be Finn’s biological mother and father ever since the character shared with Steffy that he’s Jack (Ted King) and Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) adopted son. Brown responded to a tweet by the show about Steffy and Finn’s storyline, prompting speculation that the naughty nanny is Finn’s biological mom. Though some suspected Brown’s tweet was a red herring and another familiar face (maybe Quinn, played by Rena Sofer) was going to be revealed as the mystery woman.
This revelation will only lead to more questions and more drama! For starters, is Sheila telling the truth? Who is Finn’s biological dad? And when did Sheila give birth? As Steffy and Finn appear to be about the same age, the father could be anyone as Sheila was off the canvas when Steffy was born.
“It was supposed to be a fun day for Steffy and Finn,” Wood told ET’s Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin, General Hospital) in setting up Sheila’s reveal. “And things were going well until Sheila pops up. She is a big troublemaker and has a lot of history [with the show] as viewers know.”
Sheila’s Origins
Brown debuted as nurse Sheila Carter on The Young and the Restless in 1990. After her machinations were exposed, she was presumed dead in a cabin fire. She escaped and moved to Los Angeles, crossing over to B&B in the process. “When we first created [Sheila], I was given free rein,” Brown says. “I was basically told to think of Kathy Bates in Misery. You can do no wrong. ‘Misery loves company,’ so I’m going to bring a little ‘misery’ on.”
Kimberlin Brown has a casting suggestion for B&B — she thinks Cohen should be on the show! As for her own run, “I’ll play her as long as they’ll have me,” she says. ET referred to the actress as a GH alum, which, technically, she is — having played her Port Charles character (Dr. Rachel Locke) on both the half-hour soap and GH, too. Her other soap credits include Capitol, Santa Barbara, Another World, One Life to Live, and All My Children.
What’s Sheila’s latest scheme going to be? And how will the Forresters and Finn’s family feel about Sheila being back on the scene? Don’t miss an episode to find out!
