Weekly Recap: May 4-8, 2026
Monday, May 4 – Episode #281
Martin (Brandon Claybon) walked in on his parents having a nice moment. He told them about how he and Kat (Colby Nixon) had divvied up who gets to talk to which parent on this, their anniversary. So Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) should expect a visit from Kat. Later, Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Martin talked about his marriage to Nicole being over and how that feels. And they talked about Martin keeping the truth about his potential Senate run from Smitty (Mike Manning).
Vernon (Clifton Davis) visited Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) at his law firm, where they discussed Martin’s aspirations. The former senator was finally willing to let Martin do what’s in his heart and soul, even if it meant dealing with any fallout, including Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). Vernon wanted to know that when Joey finally tried to collect on the favor he’s owed, that Bill would have his back. Vernon later decompressed with Anita (Tamara Tunie).
At Uptown, Kat and Tomas (Alex Alegria) talked about the Lynette (Dominique Madison) situation. He had a list of people Lynette had conned, and Kat recognized one name on it: Lia (Cecelia Specht). Kat decided that she would be the one to question Garland Memoria’s chief of staff. Tomas didn’t think it was a good idea, but nothing ever stops Kat.
Lia’s defenses were up when Kat confronted her with Lynette’s name. But she told her what she knew and said she couldn’t help with anything else. Lia knew nothing about Lynette’s disappearance. Meanwhile, Tomas returned to work, where Bill screamed at him for letting Kat interfere.
Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) were at the country club, which Eva thought was a big mistake. A year ago, this was where Leslie blew up Ted and Nicole’s marriage. And now they tempted fate by being there. Nicole and Kat did show up, and while there was a brief confrontation, it didn’t add up to much. Nicole and Kat had their mother/daughter time while Leslie and Eva headed to Orphey Gene’s.
Ashley (Jen Jacob) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) caught up over coffee. The nurse told her best friend about Grayson’s stabbing and everything that had recently happened. Ashley also said that they needed to talk to Smitty, who might know something about what Grayson’s involved in.
Meanwhile, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) tried to get the name of Grayson’s contact out of him. Unfortunately, just as Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) was about to come clean, he got photo proof that Ashley was being watched, and he ran off immediately.

Thursday, May 7 – Episode #282
Kat and Bill challenged each other over Kat questioning Lia. Bill said his scolding came from a place of love and loyalty for his former niece. But he didn’t want her involved in this at all. After all, she didn’t work for him. Kat still felt she could get more out of Lia.
Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) had a business proposition for Hayley (Marquita Goings). She wanted to salvage the penthouse situation she started with Lynette. Unfortunately for Vanessa, Hayley said that she and Bill had no need for the place, especially since they bought their house in St. Bart’s.
On the phone, Jacob told Smitty he wanted to meet up at the designated hotel room. Smitty made sure to tell Jacob nobody was following him. Unbeknownst to him, Joey had an urgent task for Randy (Maurice P. Kerry). He wanted Randy to follow Smitty himself. He didn’t want anybody else but Randy doing it, especially since it now seems that Joey may have something to do with the plasma ring. Randy followed Smitty to the hotel room, where the reporter met up with Jacob. Randy, however, had to leave when Hayley summoned him.
Hayley said that Vanessa coming to her about the penthouse meant that everything was okay and they no longer needed to worry about Lynette. Hayley proceeded to drink too much champagne in celebration. She took that bottle over to Bill’s office and celebrated some more.
Jacob told Smitty that he thought the plasma ring operators were setting up a dangerous trap. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Grayson confronted Lia about the photo of Ashley. Grayson asked what would happen if he wanted out. Lia told him that there was no out. And if he thought that she was a monster, then he didn’t understand the depths their employers would go to keep their business afloat.
Nicole and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) connected and went on a thrilling date. The two ended up at Orphey Gene’s, and things seemed back on track.
Friday, May 8 – Episode #283
Nicole and Carlton’s fabulous date continued with dessert at Orphey Gene’s, where the two ran into culinary expert and Drew Barrymore correspondent Sunny Anderson. She spied the couple’s public display of affection before they left the diner. Later, they reconnected in bed. And when Carlton walked away afterward, Nicole looked blissful. However, she briefly flashed to her and Ted making love. That can’t be good for her current love life.
As for Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman), they fantasized about a couple of different ways they could have met, including a ’70s Blaxploitation scenario in which Andre was an international man of mystery and a second fantasy in which Dani was a waitress and a princess. Andre invited Dani to go with him on his work trip to Korea. And then surprised her with a trip to Tokyo, where they will be able to see Chelsea’s purse line in the Fashion Collective for Fashion Week.
In Jacob’s hotel room, Grayson confronted the undercover detective, realizing that he wasn’t the dirty cop he portrayed. And het met Smitty. After Jacob made a deal with Grayson that would give him immunity, the lab tech relaxed a little and gave Jacob the name of his contact at Garland: Dr. Lia Whitmore.
Naomi headed to the Richardson-Smith abode to talk to Smitty, but ended up chatting with Martin instead. The two caught up over tea and discussed issues with Martin’s potential Senate run. Unfortunately for Naomi, her cousin didn’t know anything about what Smitty was up to. When Martin’s husband finally made it home, Smitty couldn’t concentrate, and to distract him, Martin and Smitty danced the waltz together.
Ted tried to explain his perspective to Shanice (Ernestine Johnson), who was frustrated that Ted still clearly had feelings for Leslie. Ted said he didn’t have feelings for her. He felt crushing regret over everything he had done and what he felt he unleashed. But he also said that Shanice was the one who pulled him out of the darkness, and he wanted to be with her.
Lia chatted with Ashley, and the nurse broke the news that she and Grayson had broken up. Lia was ultimately happy to find out that bit of intel. However, when she was on the phone with Ren (Donny Carrington), she mentioned loose ends she needed to take care of and looked straight at Ashley.
