Weekly Breakdown: June 22-26, 2026

Monday, June 22 – Episode #313
At the hospital, Kat (Colby Nixon) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) fought through surgery, and the entire family waited in agony. Anita (Tamara Tunie) reached out to Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), who was holed up in Eva’s room waiting for word. She told her that this was one of those times when everybody has to pull together, no matter what. They would need to set their animosity aside while Kat and Eva were in surgery. And she told Leslie to join the rest of the family when and if she was ready. Leslie did eventually join everybody. She talked about this being a new chapter for everyone.

Jacob (Jibre Hordges), Darlene (Monique Mosee), and Elon (Malachi Malik) were at the precinct. Izaiah (Lami) had wanted his space, so they left. Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) went back and forth between the Hawthornes and her family at Garland. Darlene was encouraged to see Elon and Izaiah communicate and hug. Elon wasn’t so sure she should get used to that. But she wanted her family to get back to having their famous Sunday family dinners. Later, Jacob said if she wanted them, she would have to accept Eva and maybe even Leslie, too.

Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) talked at the casino. In a perfect world, Joey and Vanessa could head to the hospital together. Unfortunately, no one in Izaiah’s life knew how close Izaiah and Joey really were, so their bond would have to remain under the radar. But Vanessa said she would give Izaiah his best when she got to the hospital. While she was with the Duprees at the hospital, Elon arrived at the casino to talk to Joey about Jacob. Joey didn’t like how his detective son kept getting into his business regarding The Impaler.

Vanessa and Dani (Karla Mosley) tried to talk quietly about Dani’s cheating scandal, but Andre (Sean Freeman) overheard a bit, and Vanessa covered. Izaiah had Naomi go out and buy a little something for Eva. It was primary day for Martin (Brandon Claybon), and on top of waiting for word about Kat (Colby Nixon) and Eva, he also waited to hear whether he had won his primary race. The livestream he had done at Orphey Gene’s struck a chord with some voters, and he ultimately won.

Eva woke up after the surgery. Izaiah gave her a bracelet to hold. Kat, on the other hand, was still unconscious when, suddenly, her heart rate became elevated, and the doctors and nurses rushed in to help. Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Ted (Keith D. Robinson) stood at Kat’s door helplessly as they worked on her.

Tuesday, June 23 – Episode #314
The doctor told Nicole and Ted that Kat’s blood pressure was still elevated. They tried to take her off the ventilator, but she wouldn’t breathe on her own. This could simply be that Kat’s body was taking its old sweet time metabolizing the anesthesia.

While Eva was awake in her room, Kat was unconscious, and she dreamt one of those “what if” scenarios where Ted chose Leslie over Nicole. And Eva was the one who grew up as the golden child. She was the one who got all the love from Martin, Ted, and Leslie. Nicole was a mess that Kat needed to take care of, and she struggled to feel maternal toward Kat. And Leslie was the perfect wife that even Martin considered his mother. Kat was isolated, made to feel less than, and forgotten. Eva was the one who won the Platinum Deb crown. Even Anita was disappointed in Kat and her diva attitude.

Meanwhile, in real life, Eva wanted to see Kat. She wanted to thank her. And Leslie did too for what she did. The family waited for word about Kat. Tomas (Alex Alegria) leaned on the Duprees in the waiting area. He talked to Anita and Vernon (Clifton Davis) about taking Kat to Puerto Rico to meet his family. Martin and Eva felt guilty over Kat being the one unable to wake up.

Ultimately, when Dream Kat realized she must have tasted a little of what Eva had been feeling as Leslie’s ostracized daughter. It was hard to be the one on the outside, left out in the cold, and to be the one who wasn’t wanted. That maybe sharing Ted as a dad wasn’t as bad as nearly losing him. And in real life, Kat woke up.

Wednesday, June 24 – Episode #315
Anita wanted to cancel her appointment with Dr. Bauer (Ivan Moore). She said she just wanted to postpone it for a few days. Instead, she wanted to help Kat after being Eva’s organ donor. And she wanted a minute to feel normal. However, Vernon disagreed with Anita. He made her see that postponing it wouldn’t be the best thing for her. And she ended up agreeing with Vernon.

At the hospital, Kat wanted to see Eva right away. Eva thanked Kat for saving her life. Kat told Eva about her dream. And Eva decided that even though Kat had given a piece of herself to Eva, maybe Kat ended up with a piece of Eva, too. Kat said this didn’t mean they would be sisters. But they seemed to come to an understanding. They held hands, even.

Dani and Andre rehashed the events of the night of the tornado. Well, not all the events. Dani didn’t fess up to her elevator tryst with Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett). Later, the two reconnected, and they made love. Then Dani visited Anita and Vernon. Vernon told Dani about Anita’s hesitation to see Dr. Bauer. But then the talk veered to any secrets Dani wouldn’t want Andre to know about. She admitted that with Andre, she was the difficult one in the relationship, so she risked hurting Andre.

Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Tomas met for breakfast at Orphey Gene’s. Tomas wanted her advice on the ring he bought. He’s going to ask Kat to marry him. Chelsea tried to talk Tomas out of asking Kat to marry him. But he was determined. And Chelsea felt in her bones this wasn’t the right move.

In Bill’s office, Naomi called Bill out on having her mother on his mind. Later, he went to what was left of the country club. He and Tomas were in the locker room when Andre showed up. Andre reiterated that Bill didn’t need to worry about her. If he wanted to worry about anyone, fret about Kat or Eva. Bill sported a smug look in response. Meanwhile, Tomas dropped the bomb that he was going to propose to Kat. Andre didn’t realize he was that serious about Kat.

Chelsea called Madison (Kenjah), who headed over to Orphey Gene’s and told her about what Tomas was planning. Madison compared Tomas wanting to propose to Kat after a near-death situation to when Chelsea proposed to Madison after learning she was going to move to Denmark. She said their situation worked out. Chelsea’s not convinced that Kat and Tomas have found their forever person. Naomi joined them. It seemed like Naomi agreed with Chelsea. They were going to need to do something, even though Tomas already had the ring.

Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) took Kat back to her room. And Eva and Ted talked. She credited Ted with getting Kat to donate part of her liver. And she told her dad to spend more time with Kat while she recovered. That she would be fine. After they talked, they understood each other more. They know what the other was going through. Ted hoped this ordeal would bring them closer together.

Meanwhile, in Kat’s room, Leslie showed up, acting threatening. And still called her Kitty Kat. However, Leslie said she wanted to do right by Kat. Kat asked her to stop calling her Kitty Kat. She said she would try. Leslie said she honors her debts, and Kat said that when the time is right, she would collect her debts.

Thursday, June 25 – Episode #316
Anita met Dr. Bauer for a major update. Her scans looked clear, and now they could proceed with Anita’s lumpectomy. Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) approached Ashley (Jen Jaacob) at the hospital. They decided to have lunch at Orphey Gene’s, but before that happened, Ashley talked to Naomi. She admitted to her bestie that her anger towards Grayson was gone. But she wanted to know if Derek (Ben Gavin) would forgive her for moving on with the man who had a hand in Derek’s death.

At the hospital, Tomas asked Ted for Kat’s hand in marriage. Ted was skeptical. He didn’t think they were that far along. Ted called Tomas out on sleeping with Eva. But in the end, he said that if Tomas was the one Kat wanted, he wouldn’t stand in her way. Later, Tomas ran into Naomi, Anita, and Vernon at the club. He hoped to put together a welcome home party for Kat. Anita thought he should go more low-key and suggested the party happen at hers and Vernon’s house.

Grayson arrived at Orphey Gene’s. Ashley told him that she wanted to be someone who could forgive mistakes rather than let them define the other person. She also wanted to believe in second chances. And she wanted to give him one and try again. But she did say that he could never lie to her again.

Chelsea and Kat talked about Eva and Leslie. It was hard for Kat to know if Leslie was being genuine. And Kat insisted that Eva would never be her real sister, although they did understand each other better, and she hoped Eva would stop resenting her for having all those years with their dad. Kat’s hero move inspired Chelsea to make a bag for her. But Kat didn’t want to monetize anything related to her and Eva. Instead, she suggested it should honor first responders like Shanice, Ashley, and Jacob, and they could donate the proceeds to tornado relief efforts. Chelsea loved the idea of the limited-edition hero handbag.

Then the talk turned to Tomas, and Kat admitted that she and Tomas were nowhere near the altar. Kat mentioned how Madison and Tomas were green flags all the way. Chelsea wanted to make sure that people don’t just think of Kat as selfish and vapid. That they knew her for the generous person she was, and that was especially evident after she gave part of her liver to Eva. Kat could no longer go to Tokyo because of her recovery — Ted grounded her. And then after he left, she realized that she wouldn’t be able to go to Puerto Rico with Tomas either.

Dani and Naomi were at the country club sharing a meal. Dani said that she could never do what Kat did. She wouldn’t give Hayley (Marquita Goings) so much as a toenail clipping. Naomi mentioned her parents’ overfamiliarity with each other. She didn’t like it, especially when they were fantasizing about each other. Dani insisted that she wasn’t doing that. After all, she wasn’t Nicole. She accidentally broke sissy confidentiality by confessing to Nicole’s fantasies about Ted.

Bill and Hayley at Uptown. Hayley didn’t think he had been acting the same lately. He basically told her he wasn’t over the tornado. Hayley wanted to know why he was having a hard time shaking it. Hayley also said she was glad Andre wasn’t more injured than he was. If he had been, Dani would have played the widow card to get into Bill’s arms. Bill insisted that he and Dani weren’t like that anymore. He was restless when he was with Dani. But he wasn’t like that with Hayley. She brought him back to life.

Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) met Hayley at Uptown. She shuddered at the prospect of having sex with Bill when she wanted to kill him with her bare hands. She wanted him dead so they could collect on that massive payout instead of collecting a paltry prenup sum. Meanwhile, Dani showed up at Bill’s office, livid over what Naomi had just told her. Bill smugly accused Dani of wanting to be right back there in that elevator.

Dani told Bill he didn’t get to blow up her life again. Their conversation got so heated that Dani tried to slap him, but he stopped her. That’s when Hayley walked in. Dani noticed her “role-playing” wardrobe and was surprised this fantasy was still in the rotation. And she warned Hayley that nothing ever topped the original.

Friday, June 26 – Episode #317
Hayley wanted to know what Bill said to gas Dani up like that. Bill defended himself. And Hayley realized that they needed new and different experiences to help spice up their relationship. She suggested skydiving. Bill balked at first, but Hayley gave him some incentive and inspiration to change his mind. She also managed to microdose his drink in the process.

Eva told Izaiah about her conversation with Kat. Leslie walked in and said she was turning over a new leaf now that her baby was okay. No more schemes. However, she said she was moving back in with Eva. Eva and Izaiah both explained to her why that wouldn’t happen. They compromised. Leslie could come over once a day, but continue to live at the hotel. Leslie eavesdropped on Izaiah and Ted. She thought she overheard Izaiah ask Ted for his hand in marriage. She made the wrong assumption.

Deanna (Angela Fairley) visited Kat, and Kat told her that Eva was a walking reminder of what her family had been through, but that didn’t mean she wanted her to die. She felt that Deanna could take it easier on her own mom. That she didn’t want to lose this time with Vanessa.

Ted talked to Shanice about a surprise romantic dinner he set up for her. He was impressed with the job she did during the tornado and wanted to show her his appreciation. Before that could happen, she had to do physical therapy with Eva. Meanwhile, Kial (Greg Vaughan) told Nicole his next patient was Kat. Kat grilled Kial about his life and his relationship with her mom. Later, Eva and Kat turned their physical therapy into a competition. But strangely, they were also in synch. At least when it came to telling their families to shut up. Ted talked to Nicole and broke the news that Tomas wanted to propose to Kat. Nicole wasn’t happier about it than Ted was.

The Smith-Richardsons celebrated their wins: Samantha’s (Najah Jackson) Platinum Deb status, Tyrell’s (Jaden Lucas Miller) graduation, Martin’s primary win, and Smitty’s blockbuster article about the plasma ring takedown, along with a note from his editor. During game night, Martin and Smitty told their kids how much they appreciated them and that they would continue their celebration after Tyrell’s graduation with a vacation to the Bahamas.

Vanessa and Joey decided to go on a vacation in the Napa Valley. They would leave that day. Outside of Uptown, Deanna saw her “dad” — he wondered why she hadn’t broken up Vanessa and Joey yet. She said she tried. Doug (Jason Graham) suggested that she play a different game. Be more accepting of Joey and get Vanessa to start turning to her more and more. Doug felt that if Deanna outsmarted and outplayed Joey, she would prevail. Deanna went in and made up with her mom. And she even decided to help them find a paint-and-sip spot in Napa Valley. And she apologized for the way she had been acting.
