During the Friday, June 5 episode of Beyond the Gates, Victor Newman, of Young and the Restless, made his first BTG appearance. According to spoilers, it’s Tuesday, June 9, when the legendary Genoa City, Wisconsin, businessman actually lands in Fairmont Crest for Martin’s high-profile political fundraiser.

Key Takeaways

  • Victor Newman officially arrives in Fairmont Crest to headline Martin’s high-profile political fundraiser.
  • Martin and his family rally around the event as his reelection campaign faces mounting pressure.
  • Naomi turns to her mom, while Jacob locks horns with his father.
  • Leslie appears poised to add another event crash to her growing résumé.

Welcome to the DMV, Victor Newman

The BTG/Y&R crossover gets a proper kickoff when Victor Newman (Y&R’s Eric Braeden) lands in Fairmont Crest, as seen in the CBS soap’s weekly video preview. The first thing that he does is greet Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), who’s waiting for him to give the Newman patriarch a friendly Fairmont Crest hello.

Victor is one of the Duprees’ biggest donors. And he’s in town to serve as the keynote speaker at the fundraiser for Vernon’s congressman-grandson, Martin Richardson-Smith (Brandon Claybon). Vernon — a retired Senator — secured his old pal’s support himself. It was a real coup and came just in time since Martin’s poll numbers have apparently stalled in his bid for reelection. Will Victor’s presence be the boon that the Duprees are hoping for?

Will the Richardson-Smiths Show Up for Martin?

Meanwhile, Martin and the entire Richardson-Smith household prepare for the fundraiser. Let’s see if teens Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) and Samantha (Najah Jackson) do this willingly or if they complain. This is a big event for their father. He needs all the help he can get.

Smitty (Mike Manning) has been preoccupied with his five-part series on the plasma ring scandal. The investigative reporter may also be somewhat reluctant to devote his time to the preparations. He has only carved out a little time to be at the actual event. He said that he’d sneak out after Martin’s speech.

Naomi and Jacob Still Strugging Separately

Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) are still struggling with the fallout from Jacob’s undercover operation, which damaged the plasma ring. Naomi’s completely scared that 1) her husband is continuing to pursue the leader of the ring, The Impaler. And 2) he wants to continue going undercover.

Naomi once again turns to Dani (Karla Mosley), this time sharing her fears about Jacob’s well-being. The man is spiraling after losing his best friend. He is exhibiting clear signs of PTSD. And aybe the police department needs to mandate counseling. Or Dani can turn to Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), who can refer a professional.

Either way, Jacob needs therapy sooner rather than later. His mental health is suffering. He can’t contain his anger. He didn’t want the commendation because he didn’t feel he deserved it. Look for him to again take his anger out on his father when Jacob locks horns with Elon (Malachi Malik) at the police station.

Leslie the Professional Event Crasher Strikes Again

When Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) doesn’t receive invitations to society events or other opportunities, she makes things happen for herself. In other words,s she crashes them. She crashed Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Nicole’s anniversary party. More recently, she crashed the Garland Memorial press conference about the plasma ring bust.

She showed up at the police station just after Jacob got his commendation. And we’re pretty sure she will try to crash Martin’s fundraiser. As a tune-up, Leslie invites herself to Mona’s (Karan Kendrick) event. She should start getting paid for this. It’s a gift.
