The preview starts with the sound and the visual of a helicopter about to land on the grounds of Fairmont Crest, maybe even Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon’s mansion. With the copter in the background, the great Victor Newman (Y&R’s Eric Braeden) walks up and greets his very important friend, former senator Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis).
“Vernon, my man,” Victor begins as the two shake hands and go in for a hug. “Hello, friend,” Vernon replies. “Nice to see you, man,” Victor continues.
The action then cuts to the fundraiser, where the crowd applauds something Martin (Brandon Claybon) must have said. But the promo quickly takes a terrifying turn. A tornado directly hits the high-profile party’s location. The lights are out, chandeliers are shattering. It’s instant chaos for everyone, including Jack (Y&R’s Peter Bergman) and Diane Abbott (Y&R’s Susan Walters).
Vernon grabs Anita and says, “Baby, we’ve got to go now.” But Anita’s reluctant. She probably wants to make sure everyone that she knows and loves is safe. Cut to an elevator, where Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani (Karla Mosley) are stuck, and Bill is explaining why it will be impossible to get out of the elevator anytime soon. “The power is out. There’s nothing left to do but wait for help.” Dani Dupree waits for no one. And she reminds Bill that he’s the same type of person. “When have you ever done that in your life?
Back out at the fundraiser, we see horrified looks on Jack’s and Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) faces. Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) is there by her side. At that point, we hear, but we do not see Smitty (Mike Manning) saying, “Martin, if you can hear me…”
Finally, Ted (Keith D. Robinson) is with Kat (Colby Nixon), holding her hands, and sees that his daughter may be hurt. “You’re bleeding. Let me check your…” And that’s when Kat lets her father know that, “It’s not my blood.” Whose blood is it then? The teasers for next week reveal that Kat and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) are forced to work together. Could Eva be hurt?
