Ted (Keith D. Robinson) may have Dr. Monica’s (Iona Morris) approval. That doesn’t mean things will go as smoothly with Shanice’s brothers. Shanice has been working overtime to tell her man that her brothers are chaotic. And that the country club may be too proper a place for these introductions to go down.
But Ted loves Shanice (Ernestine Johnson). He wants to do right by her. And while he says he’s not thinking about marriage, this is a step towards walking down the aisle someday. Winning over his girlfriend’s brothers is important to him, so he may not be prepared if things don’t go his way.
Jacob’s Work-Life Balance Issues Are Growing
With the San Francisco operation of The Impaler’s plasma ring imploding, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) is getting more determined to suss out the leader’s identity. He is laser-focused and maybe even a little obsessed. And so it’s not surprising that his single-mindedness will begin to affect his marriage and family life.
Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) has already turned to Jacob’s dad for advice. And when Jacob learned about this, he seemed a little torn. But he also didn’t seem like he was going to stop anytime soon. Derek (Ben Gavin) is dead, and Jacob has something to prove. But Naomi isn’t ready for another round of an absentee husband. So something will have to give eventually.
Meanwhile, Naomi rides to Smitty’s defense. In the preview for this week, she’s right by his side while…her HUSBAND…questions his cohort-in-crimefighting. After all, Smitty (Mike Manning) was one of the last people who saw Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) alive. It feels like Naomi’s legal expertise is coming in handy on multiple levels these days.
Confrontations and Sabotage in the DMV
If Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) find themselves in the middle of a confrontation again, this may not be about Leslie’s shouse that she insists on rebuilding. This could, once again, involve obtaining Leslie’s approval to use Barbara’s voice.
Leslie does want producer credit in addition to being there in the studio when the Articulettes record the album. And that’s in addition to the mountains of cash Leslie will continue to make as Barbara’s sole heir.
But this may not be Leslie’s only task on Tuesday. We’re wondering if she might have her hands in the sabotage that the weekly teasers suggest leaves Ted speechless. There may be a Garland press conference that’s about to happen.
