Things get awkward right off the bat when Ted (Keith D. Robinson) is at the country club, ready to have a meet-the-family moment with Shanice’s (Ernestine Johnson) brothers. “Anybody tell your ass to sit down?” Cedric (Khiry Walker) starts, leaving Ted a bit startled and confused. “I’m sorry. What now?” he responds.
“You heard what my brother said,” Lamont (Denzel Dandridge) explains. “You’re not welcome here.” Ted’s nervous about this introduction. He may not know whether the brothers are joking or completely serious.
Anita Versus Leslie…AGAIN
Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) arrives at Anita’s (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon’s (Clifton Davis) house, this time with Eva (Ambyr Michelle) in tow. Whatever could she want? “What now, Leslie?” Anita asks, impatient and frustrated to have another confrontation with her nemesis. “Don’t get all twisty, ‘Nita. We’ll just be a minute.”
Heather Runs into Nicole, Samantha, and Tyrell
Oh oh. Heather (Ashley Jones, BTG’s Performer of the Month for August 2026) is at Orphey Gene’s when she runs into Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), who’s there with Samantha (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller).
Heather takes the opportunity for a loaded comment. She never seems to pass up those moments. She just takes in the new information and files it away for a rainy day. “I am just absolutely smitten with your lovely grandchildren,” she says.
We find out Nicole wasn’t too pleased with this interaction with Heather. In the very next scene, she’s at Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom), where she yells at him with Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) watching. “Keep your damn sister away from my grandkids!” the psychiatrist. exclaims.
Inappropriate Texting Between Dani and Bill
Over in Seoul, South Korea, Dani (Karla Mosley) is laughing and texting with Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett). Apparently, they will continue to connect even though they are thousands of miles apart. Unfortunately for Dani, Andre (Sean Freeman) arrives just when she’s getting all giggly. “What’s so funny?” Andre asks. Dani will probably serve up another lie. She’s collecting a lot of those.
Jacob Questions Smitty About Lia
Smitty (Mike Manning) has been reeling since Lia Whitmore’s death. It’s not going to help that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) heads over to his place and grills him. “Jacob, just answer me this thing. The questions you’re asking me. Those are the questions you ask a suspect. Is Lia’s death now a murder investigation?”
Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) is sitting right beside Smitty, which may mean that she is unofficially acting as his lawyer. Whatever the situation. Smitty was one of the last people to see Lia (Cecelia Specht) alive. He may have important information or observations to add to the case.
