Leslie is a woman who craves riches, as well. She has manipulated people, including her own daughter, into doing what she wants. Because of this, she’s known to be a master manipulator and dangerous schemer who goes to extremes.
While Hayley is a schemer, she still follows the number one rule that you should never trust a rival schemer. She knows that Leslie is offering an alliance for Leslie’s own benefit. Hayley may fear that she could be used or betrayed by someone who has no qualms about turning against her.
