When Beyond the Gates and General Hospital star Jon Lindstrom announced his thrilling new gig, fans were excited to check out his novel Hollywood Hustle. The book, about a washed up movie star who must team up with a stuntman and disgraced cop to rescue his kidnapped daughter, was a hit with fans. Lindstrom even mused that if it ever got made into a film, he envisioned Kevin Bacon as its star. Well, that dream is getting closer to a reality as the book has been optioned by a production company.

He’ll Be More Than Just the Writer

According to Deadline, the rights to turn Lindstrom’s first novel into a film have been acquired by production company and distributor AETH Entertainment. Lindstrom’s representatives, Independent Artist Group and Gilbertson Entertainment in conjunction with literary agency Liza Royce Associates, worked with the Gersh talent agency, which represents AETH, to seal the deal.

The CEO of AETH, Eric Woods, explained his enthusiasm in bringing the novel to the silver screen, stating, “From the opening pages, Hollywood Hustle grabs you and doesn’t let go — it’s a natural fit for an electrifying cinematic experience.” The very cool part that fans will appreciate is that the film won’t just be based on Lindstrom’s book, but he’ll also be an executive producer on it.

He’s Thrilled to See It Come To Life

Lindstrom told Deadline that, “so much of my career has been spent in and around the film industry, and I wanted Hollywood Hustle to capture the look and feel of that world behind the camera that most people don’t see.” He further explained that his career has been all about him playing characters written by other people, and enthused, “It’s going to be a thrill to see the characters I created come to life on the screen.”

It’s an exciting time for Lindstrom because the BTG star, who’s killing it as the menacing Joey Armstrong, wrote on Instagram that his book is eligible for an Anthony Award at the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention. That means he joins the ranks of powerhouse authors like Thomas Harris, whose novel Silence of the Lambs was a nominee in 1989, and became an Oscar-winning feature film.
