Born Jacob Wayne Young in Renton, Washington to Michael and Rhonda Young. He grew up with his siblings, Michael, Tiffany and Charity in Washington and Oregon. He decided to be an actor after performing in several high school musicals.
At 18, Jacob decided to try his luck in Los Angeles and quickly won the sought-after role of Eric “Rick” Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. He gained front-burner recognition and became a fan favorite when paired with Adrienne Frantz’s Amber Moore.
They were the rich-boy and girl-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks super couple to watch. Despite his status, Young decided to leave in 1999.
He played Dean Torrance in the Beach Boys mini-series The Beach Boys: An American Family. By 2000, he had landed the coveted role as the recast of Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. Jacob won a Daytime for his portrayal of young Spencer on GH, so his gamble paid off. He left GH in 2003.
Young added The Girl Next Door and Hope & Faith to resume while juggling the role of JR Chandler on All My Children and One Life to Live. Then he returned to where it all started– The Bold and the Beautiful in 2011. Even made a brief cross-over as Rick, to B&B’s sister soap, The Young and the Restless.
Young resides in Utah, with his wife Christen and their three children, Luke, Molly and Grace.
