Deidre Hall

Birth Name: Deidre Ann Hall
Birth Place: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
Profession: Actor, Producer

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but raised in Florida, Deidre Ann Hall studied psychology at Palm Beach Junior College.

Her career plans changed when she traveled to Los Angeles one summer and began landing modeling jobs and commercials. Appearances in television shows followed.

Hall was first introduced to soap opera audiences in 1973, when she was hired to play Barbara on The Young and the Restless.

Three years later, she was cast as Electra Woman/Lori in children’s show, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

Ultimately, Hall landed the role that would skyrocket her to daytime fame: Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of our Lives.

Over the years, she has starred in her own nighttime series (Our House), made appearances in a variety of primetime series and made-for-TV movies, as well as executive produced and starred in Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story.

Hall resides in Los Angeles. In her free-time, she has written two books, Deidre Hall’s Kitchen Closeup and Deidre Hall’s How Does She Do It, designed holiday cards to benefit Wounded Warriors Project, and launched her own skin care and makeup line.

Deidre Hall has come a long way since she first appeared as “Blonde” on Television’s Night Gallery in 1971. Roles on Adam 12, The Streets of San Francisco, Emergency!, and the first episode of The Young and the Restless quickly followed.

But it was the role of Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in 1976 that made her a household favorite.

Despite a full schedule of portraying everybody’s favorite psychiatrist, Hall managed to juggle multiple film and TV roles throughout the years and earned her a star on the Walk of Fame in 2016.
